Key representatives in government that fund and support<strong>the</strong> zoo industry should also be invited.Environment NGO delegates should be invited from overseas and also be invited toparticipate in <strong>the</strong> workshop and highlight how zoos can increase <strong>the</strong>ir contribution.Community Presentation Conferences (Business and industry)• ‘Green’ conservation seminar on how to contribute more to in situ conservation, factorsto consider in supporting a program and what skills can be applied and learnt fromsupporting a program.• Presentation at a climate change conference/seminar. Topic includes how <strong>the</strong>community and industry can support zoo industries, to become leaders in conservationprograms, conservation education, and how industry and work with zoos to help <strong>the</strong>latter increase <strong>the</strong>ir use of ‘green’ technologies.Media Opportunities• Development of a conservation documentary on programs that zoos within Australiasupport, highlighting <strong>the</strong> operations of <strong>the</strong> programs, relevant issues, and impacts thatzoos make to general conservation management. This can include how <strong>the</strong> generalaudience can support zoos and what is needed for overall conservation programsuccess.• General marketing and promotions – World Environment Day, Endangered SpeciesDay, World Animal Day, Orangutan Awareness Week, Clean Up Australia Day, etc..Who?• ISS and Zoos Victoria to develop and host a ‘green conservation’ seminar withbusiness and industry.• Zoo Industry Conferences – McKelson with support from Zoos Victoria and ISS.• Business & Industry presentations – McKelson with Zoos Victoria and ISS support.• ISS to host a workshop for <strong>the</strong> zoo industry and o<strong>the</strong>r key representatives. WithinAustralia and overseas. Zoos Victoria and McKelson to support <strong>the</strong> function.• Media opportunities – ISS and Zoos Victoria to investigate how media opportunitiescan fur<strong>the</strong>r promote <strong>the</strong> Fellowship and <strong>the</strong> conservation activities that <strong>the</strong> zoo isinvolved with – link this in with how people can increase <strong>the</strong>ir support. This could bevia Fellowships in this industry.
