I found the OCAIRS very useful with clients who were stable in their mental health, butneeded a recovery approach in order to progress occupationally i.e. living in verysupported environment and needing/ wanting to move onto more independent living. TheOCAIRS helped me to understand their volitional state and, importantly, where they feltthey were in their recovery journey. The OCAIRS also gave me questions that I coulduse in my initial interviews with other clients, to elicit volitional information.I have used the MOHOST with clients who are currently unwell and/or at the beginningof their recovery journey. I have found it useful as an outcome measure and to ensurethat I have collected all relevant information to form an understanding of the person’soccupational challenges. The MOHOST is a the Ax tool of choice within our TrustI also use the AMPS – in a standardised way or informally to capture the person’s ADLskills. This enables me to gain perspective on their perceived and actual abilities.Hope that helpsLaura
