LATEST DINGHY RESULTSDinghies – Sunday 9th December 2012Fastest – Full Rig Nigel Paul – Vitamin Sea VFastest – Radial Willy Nunn – The Bush Kangaroo1. Wendy Campbell – Two Chances2. Willy Nunn – Tck Tck SkippyJon Van der Peyl – QuickfootLovely Sunday sailing. Thank you to all for organising and aending. I kept thinking whilst sailing, that I couldn’twish to be anywhere else! Only sad point was no dolphins this week!Easterly’s blew most of the morning, starng a bit gusty, but slowly easing off as the morning progressed. My pre race nerves had me tapping Steve’s – Blue Vixen (sorry Steve, definitely my fault) and capsizing! Pleasenote, Ross also had a swim! The pracce starts are a good idea, but with the start boat driing away and thenmotoring off to resecure the anchor, I was a bit confused about the proceedings. However, if all agree, a fewmore pracce starts would be great.Up to the first mark I was actually behind Mal! This was a great thrill, but then I blame the small sail for fallingbehind considerably on the downward runs. Graham overtook me, and then so did everyone – or so it seemed –except for poor old dad. Time to get yourself your own boat Ross!!?Good to see Carlos scking with us. He should have a handicap by now.Thank you to all for the rescue drill last week and for poinng out where the safety equipment is located aroundthe club. I’m embarrassed to say, knowledge of such equipment hadn’t even entered my thoughts, but now that Iknow where the stuff is, I feel I could be more useful in an emergency.Take care everyone,Wendy Campbell.Ps It is possible that I’m not due this 1 st . I note that my closing handicap on 2/12 was 0.8323 and the openinghandicap on 9/12 was 0.7914! If someone is entled to the flag, I will try to prize it off my daughter and return toyou next week.TIDE GAUGEWe have placed a de gauge on the outside of the South West corner of the main jey gatehouse. It is a two metre long wooden beam, with markings from zero to two metres, at 100 mm intervals, and has been bolted to the outside of the gate house, and can be viewed from the car park,or from “E” jey.The markings are related to Low Water Mark Fremantle which is the datum for dal readings andcharts.I have kept this brief and simple, and if anyone has any queries please ask me.Max Brown7/12/2012
