Dear Recruiters,<br />

Today's business climate is changing with the times in a socially- and<br />

environmentally-conscious direction. Companies are actively seeking solutions<br />

At <strong>MDI</strong> we are proud to have the full-time fifteen months residential program,<br />

Executive Post Graduate Program in <strong>Management</strong> (erstwhile National<br />

<strong>Management</strong> Program) started in <strong>19</strong>88. The EPGPM curriculum sets a premium<br />

on interdisciplinary perspectives and interactive learning. Our EPGPM<br />

curriculum is grounded in our conviction that great leadership is what you do<br />

'with' people and not what you do 'to' people. For decades, <strong>MDI</strong> has had the<br />

distinction of having the best-in-class reputation for teaching the art of leadership.<br />

We have enabled thousands of executives access new reserves of energy and<br />

potential through this program. We help them to realize their latent leadership<br />

strengths and mould them to develop a personalized learning plan to become<br />

effective leaders.<br />

In the EPGPM, we explore leadership at four levels: self, team, organization, and<br />

society. Modules are carefully designed keeping in view the future of business and<br />

educating future managers for the new global realities. Throughout the program,<br />

students learn to recognize the opportunities for outstanding leadership at each of<br />

these levels, and acquire the skills necessary to turn those opportunities into<br />

Dear Recruiters,<br />

Since inception, the Executive Post Graduate Program in <strong>Management</strong><br />

(EPGPM) at <strong>MDI</strong> has been the platform where thousands of individuals with<br />

different priorities, different interests and divergent needs have shaped their<br />

worlds. For most, this is a place for enriching future careers and personal growth.<br />

For some, it's a springboard for shaping the course of an organization. For all, it's a<br />

unique community that empowers the participants to grow, achieve and surpass<br />

boundaries.<br />

The present batch of EPGPM has been selected using rigorous selection criteria<br />

which explored various dimensions of a student's personality, experience,<br />

analytical and intellectual ability to pursue higher goals. Thus we have assembled a<br />

group of thirty four bright future managers, drawn from all parts of the country<br />

and encompassing a wide spectrum of sectors including PSUs.<br />

Students commonly tell us that they sense the difference from the day they arrive<br />

on campus. It's a feeling that becomes even stronger over fifteen months working<br />

together in project teams, casual conversations with professors, and impromptu<br />

get-togethers. Through our interactive learning environment, our students learn<br />

to deal with complex issues and problems, make critical decisions, lead teams and<br />

collaborate with others. We emphasize principled leadership, and seek to admit<br />

and educate leaders of the highest ethical standards. A point of distinction is our<br />

The <strong>Institute</strong><br />

<strong>Management</strong> <strong>Development</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> (<strong>MDI</strong>) was formed as an autonomous body in <strong>19</strong>73, in collaboration<br />

with several reputed institutions like UNDP, UNIDO, World Bank and ILO. Since its inception, <strong>MDI</strong> has<br />

moved on the success path and is among the country's top B-Schools today.<strong>MDI</strong> is recognized in the<br />

business and education community for the outstanding growth it has been able to achieve in a short span of<br />

time. The EPGPM programme, started in <strong>19</strong>88 is already one of the best in the country. Over the years,<br />

students have joined well renowned corporations and have done their alma mater proud with their<br />

exceptional performance and professional approach. The institute integrates knowledge, research, industry<br />

experience and international exposure to offer comprehensive management programmes. <strong>MDI</strong> has the<br />

distinction of being the first internationally accredited Indian B-School. It was accredited by South Asian<br />

Quality Systems (SAQS) in 2005 and by Association of MBAs (AMBA), U.K. in 2006<br />

<strong>MDI</strong> has a well developed state-of-the-art infrastructure, which includes a library with a collection of over<br />

The International Conference on Information Systems, Technology and <strong>Management</strong>, which was founded in<br />

2007, was held in New Delhi (India), Dubai (UAE), Ghaziabad (India) and Bangkok (Thailand) previously. The<br />

conference in 20<strong>11</strong> was organized by the <strong>Management</strong> <strong>Development</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> (India), the University of Florida<br />

(USA) and Grenoble EU (France), from the <strong>10</strong>th to the 12th of March, 20<strong>11</strong>. The conference brought together<br />

developers, users and researchers from the academic and Business community for sharing and exploring new<br />

areas of research and development in the knowledge economy.<br />

International Conference on Sustainable Infrastructure in<br />

Emerging Markets<br />

<strong>Management</strong> <strong>Development</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> (<strong>MDI</strong>) organized a conference on Sustainable Infrastructure in Emerging<br />

Markets in 20<strong>11</strong>. The conference brought together academicians, policy makers and practitioners to present<br />

papers on one of the most pressing economic challenges of emerging economies: The creation of infrastructure<br />

in an efficient, equitable and environmentally sustainable manner. The conference was a unique event, and<br />

contributed significantly towards bridging the gap between research, policy, and practice, which is stark especially<br />

in emerging economies.<br />

International Conference on Digital Libraries and<br />

Knowledge Organization (ICDK)<br />

The ICDK was organized jointly by <strong>Management</strong> <strong>Development</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> (<strong>MDI</strong>), Indian Association of Special<br />

Libraries and Information Centers (IASLIC), and INDEST-AICTE Consortium from the 14th to the 16th of<br />

February, 20<strong>11</strong>. The conference provided a forum for scholars from different fields and backgrounds to share their<br />

views and perspectives on how to advance research in the areas of digital libraries and knowledge organizations.<br />

The conference saw a major turnout this year and journals like Program: Electronic Library and Information<br />

Systems and International Journal of Computer Applications brought out special issues covering selected articles.<br />

International Conference on Financial Innovations and<br />

Change for Survival and Growth (FINCON)<br />

The FINCON-20<strong>11</strong> was organized and hosted by <strong>Management</strong> <strong>Development</strong> <strong>Institute</strong>, Gurgaon on the 7th<br />

and 8th of January, 20<strong>11</strong>, in collaboration with School of Business, Connecticut. The conference attracted a host<br />

of highly distinguished academicians and corporate organizations who, over the entire duration, shared their<br />

views on topics ranging from Valuation Modeling and Financial Risk <strong>Management</strong> to Inflation. The highlight of<br />

the conference was the valedictory address given by Dr. C. Rangarajan, the Chairman of the Prime Minister’s<br />

Economic Advisory Council.

Faculty members at <strong>MDI</strong> are involved in action centric research, and organizational problems are solved<br />

with academic rigour. Many faculty members have maintained their focus of research on certain key<br />

topics and have established their expertise and credibility in that area.<br />

<strong>MDI</strong> encourages its faculty and doctoral candidates to publish their papers in quality journals classified<br />

in Class A, B, and C, based on ISI Thomson Scientific Journal Impact Factor and cases in Asia Case<br />

Research Centre, Hong Kong.<br />

<strong>MDI</strong> boasts of the highest research output among B-Schools in the country. To further research at the<br />

institute, <strong>MDI</strong> has signed an MoU with Asia Case Research Centre (ACRC), Hong Kong to promote<br />

the India Business Series. As part of this initiative, <strong>MDI</strong> faculty has published cases such as:<br />

reputed Indian and foreign institutions. The journal is a scholastic platform for sharing of<br />

ideas, developing a culture of academic and industrial research, and beginning the trend of debates<br />

through publishing articles of varied genres. ‘Vision’ contains contributions from distinguished<br />

studies, conference proceedings, training manuals, etc. The Library with its<br />

applications. The entire Library collection including the CD-ROM databases<br />

EPGPM<br />

A 15 Month full time residential MBA programme uniquely designed for working<br />

executives across all the sectors of economy. Pre requisite for admissions to EPGPM is a<br />

minimum of 5 years of executive work experience in leadership roles. Participants who<br />

Student profiles and other relevant details are shared with companies<br />

The companies conduct Pre-Placement Talks to give in-depth information about them<br />

including the roles and profiles being offered<br />

Applications are invited and resumes of interested applicants are shared with the companies<br />

Based on factors such as profiles and locations offered, and student's perceptions and<br />

areas of interest, companies are ranked and called on campus<br />

Companies conduct their selection process which typically comprises CV based short<br />

listing, group discussions, and interviews<br />

Final results are announced by the companies<br />
