Halloween follows the Autumn Equinoxin September and marks the beginningof Winter. At the Autumn Equinox, the days andnights are equal, so it is a time ofbalance, but light gives way to increaseddarkness. It is a time for thanksgivingand meditation. The Autumn Equinox is known asMabon (Celtic), Winter Finding(Teutonic) and Alban Elfed (Caledonii). Itis usually held on 21 September in theNorthern Hemisphere – the day andnight are equal in length on this day, andon 21March in the SouthernHemisphere.Mabon is also the Welsh god of Fertility, who marks the end of the secondharvest, a time when the majority ofcrops are gathered. Wiccans refer tothis time as the "witches thanksgiving".In Wicca the Autumn Equinox is the timewhen the Wiccan goddess mourns herfallen consort; the Wiccan god prepares toleave his physical body toward renewaland rebirth of the Goddess and theGoddess enters the "Crone" stage.Druidic Harvest Sabbath andWitches’ New YearThe Druidic New Year began at Samhain- named for the primeval Lord of the Dead,Samana. Samhain is the Witches' NewYear, representing one full turn of theseasonal year.Halloween is the last of the three Paganharvest Sabbaths marking the end of thegrowing seasons. Because growth was atits lowest point and the cold wasincreasing, magical bonfires were lit toencourage the sun. People would leapover them and drive cattle through theflames; even witches were burned on themin later times.Purification by fire got rid of evil influences.910

Feast of the DeadAll Souls' Day (November 1), also knownas All Hallows' Day or All Saints' Day, is aChristianised version of the ancient Celticfestival of Samhain, the Feast of the Dead.It began on the night of October 31,because ancient days were reckoned fromevening to evening, rather than frommidnight to midnight as we do now (hencethe prominence of "eve's", as in ChristmasEve, New Year's Eve, Halloween, etc). It isa time when the veil between the livingand the dead is at its thinnest. Deceasedancestors and other "friendly" spiritsare invited to join in Sabbath festivitiesand be reunited with loved ones.Wiccans (Pagans) prepare a Feast for theDead on Samhain night, where they leaveofferings of food and drink for the spirits.Candles are left in the windows with theseplates of food for the visiting spirits. Thefires or candle left burning all night are tohonour and welcome the dead.SPIRITUAL STRONGHOLDSBEHIND HALLOWEENDivination and sorcerySamhain in those days was very much atime of chaos and the reversal of normalorder. This led to a plague of trickery: theblocking of chimneys, leading off of cattle, throwing cabbage at notables and so on. Itwas also a season for divination and thereading of omens, such as placing two nutsin the fire as a test for lovers: burningsteadily denoted constancy, popping meantinconstancy.Rites varied from one region to another.Halloween is a night of magic charms anddivinations, reading the future withwitches' mirrors and nutshell ashes, ducking for apples in tubs of water(representing soul-symbols in the Cauldronof Regeneration) and other objectionablerites.1112

Ghosts and FairiesThe sacred night was also a feast of thefairies, who ruled the festival, butdeparted thereafter for their winter retreat.Because ghosts and fairies roamed theearth on this night, it was dangerous formortals to go abroad without ritualprecautions.Supernatural beings had the propensity tosteal the unwary and take them away totheir timeless lands, never to be seenagain - or to take their souls, leaving thepoor unhappy mortals lost and confused inthe twilight zone.Ceremonial PlacesDruids held the ceremonies in "sanctified"or sacred places, such as sacred grovesof trees, especially oak trees. It waswithin these groves that most assembliesand religious ceremonies occurred. TheDruids also valued the trees for curativebenefits. The mistletoe, seen as a sign from theCeltic Otherworld (the name of a placewhere afterlife was thought to exist), wasused as a cure against poisons, infertility, and even used to cure animals. When the people were not nearby grovesthey assembled by rivers, streams, andlakes. The Celts worshipped water godsand believed water to be sacred. Liketrees and water the Druids held someislands to be sacred too.Human SacrificeDruidic human sacrifices were part ofthese ceremonies. They were performedwithin a religious and spiritual sense. Manywere performed publicly among the Celticpeople especially at the celebration ofBeltain. There were also private humansacrifices.1314

OTHER OCCULTIC LINKSThe Wiccan ConnectionWiccans have adopted the Druidicsabbaths or celebrations on the foursolstice and equinox dates, as well as onHalloween. In Wiccan (Pagan) belief, on this day -when darkness increases - the Goddessreigns as the Crone, part of the three-inonethat also includes the Maiden andMother. The God, the Dark Lord, passesinto the underworld to become the seed ofhis own rebirth (which will occur again atYule).Wiccans believe that lighting a neworange-colored candle at midnight onSamhain and allowing it to burn untilsunrise will bring one good luck. However, bad luck will befall those who bake breadon this day or journey after sunset. Blackcandles are used to ward off negativity.Jack O’Lanterns, gourds, cider, fall foliage, incense and certain gemstones are usedas altar decorations. The incense isapple, heliotrope, mint, nutmeg and sage. The candles are black and orange and thegemstones are all black, such as jet, obsidian and onyx.Traditional foods for Halloween includeapples, pumpkin pie, hazelnuts, corn, cranberry muffins and breads, ale, ciderand herbal teas.It is believed that divination is heightenedthis night. On this day Wiccan traditions include runecasting, making Jack O’Lanterns andstanding before a mirror and making asecret wish. The pagans celebrated their New Yearfeast at Halloween, sacrificing domesticanimals to their god Zimiennik (Samanik;Samana).1516

If the lord of the underworld accepted theoffering on behalf of all the dead, the spiritswere satisfied and would refrain from doingharm. If not adequately propitiated, they mightdescend on the world as vengeful ghosts, led by demons and "witches" (priestesses)who summoned them.Witches and ghosts are still associatedwith Halloween, together with such soulsymbolsas owls, bats, and cats. The pagan idea used to be that crucialjoints between the seasons opened cracksin the fabric of space-time, allowing contactbetween the ghost world and the mortalone. The Satanist CelebrationSatanists have adopted the Druidic HighDays and as such celebrate Halloween asfollows:• 22-29 October Satanists startSacrifice preparation• 30 October Satanic High Day –related to Halloween with humansacrifice• 31 October All Hallow’s Eve /Halloweeno Blood and sex rituals withdemons, and animals or humansacrifices.1718

Druids believed that souls of the deadreturned to their former homes to beentertained by the living.Bonfires were built atop hills so they mightfind their way.Suitable food and shelter was provided forthese spirits or else they would cast spells, cause havoc, steal infants, destroy crops, kill farm animals and create terror as theyhaunted the living. The spirits demandedplacating by giving them a type of worshipand offering. This is the action that "Trickor-Treat"emulates today. The Samhain celebration used nuts, apples, skeletons, witches and black cats.Divination and auguries were practiced aswell as magic to seek answers for thefuture. Black cats were considered to bereincarnated beings with the ability todivine the future. During this festivalsupernatural beings terrified the populace.Even today witchcraft practitioners declareOctober 31 st as the most conducive timeto practice their arts. The Christian church tried to eliminate theDruid celebration by offering All Saint's Dayas a substitute. As Christianity spread overEurope and the British Isles, it attempted toreplace the pre-existing pagan cult worshipof Apollo, Diana or Ymir, but to no avail.Although the outward forms of suchworship disappeared, the belief in thesedeities did not. They found an outlet duringthe Middle Ages in the open practice ofwitchcraft. In Germany the occult isconsidered more prevalent than in theMiddle Ages. The deistic cults held periodic meetingsknown as witches sabbaths, and it is thesame today with October 31 st being ofmore importance.Pranks and mischief began to be playedout to represent the mischievous behaviorattributed to witches and the fairies.2122

Trick-or-Treat came from an ancient Druidpractice. One of the basic tenets inwitchcraft is to control the will ofanother by use of fear. Even in jest, when one threatens to punish if a treator offering is not given, they areimitating an occult practice ofcontrolling the will of another by use offear.Prosperity was promised to all who weregenerous donors, and tricks to all whorefused during the Irish Druid event of trickor-treat.The contributions demandedwere in the name of Muck Olla, an earlyDruid deity.Traditional Halloween symbols appearedin the U.S. during the late 1800's. Witches, black cats, death's head cut from apumpkin, candles, masks, parties andpranks were used. The uninformed Christian has no idea thatthere truly are demonic spirits that arecontacted and activated as people callout to them in jest or in seriousness.Every act around Halloween is in honorof false gods, which are spirits in therealm of the Satanic. Those who havebeen deeply involved in witchcraft and whoare now free, declare that even those whosay they worship spirits of nature are inactuality contacting the Satanic realmwithout knowing it.To pray for the dead is againstscripture. If one knows Jesus beforedeath, their spirit is already with the Lord.Paul says in II Corinthians 5:6, to beabsent from the body is to be at home withthe Lord. If one is an unbeliever at death, the scripture says there is no secondchance as it is appointed unto man once todie and after that the judgment.2324

Therefore, prayer for the dead is inopposition to God's Word and a paganpractice that became "Christianized".While living, one must make a choice "for"or "against" Jesus and that determines thedestination at death of the spirit. Noamount of prayer can reverse the decisionmade on earth by the person concernedwhile they were alive. The Bible instructs us to have nothing to dowith the deeds of darkness. BothChristian and Jew are forbidden toparticipate in the occult practices listed inDeut 18:10: There shall not be foundamong you anyone who makes his son ordaughter pass through the fire, or whouses divination, or is a soothsayer, or anaugur, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or amedium, or a wizard, or a necromancer.Necromancy is the delving into contactingthe dead. God said all such practice wasan abomination to Him.Some may reply, "But we only do this infun...we don't practice witchcraft". Thatwhich represents Satan and his domaincannot be handled or emulated "for fun".Such participation places you in enemyand forbidden territory and that isdangerous ground.Biblical High DaysThrough the ages, Halloween has gone byvarious names but all have been tributesto the same dark force, Satan. There isno place in the life of the Church or theChristian for such participation. The Bibledoes not say that it is all right to celebratepagan holidays. It says over and over notto worship the True God the way othersworshipped their false gods.In addition, God commands His people toworship the Days He created for worship.God set the astronomical calendar, for allpeople around the world, not just the Jews.2526

In Genesis 1:14 signs is the same word asSabbaths and in Exodus 31:13 and 13:9seasons has the same meaning than Holyday convocations. He did not do this in the permanent lunarsolar calendar for temporary reasons. TheBible commands observance of only HisHoly Days. The Bible shows observance of paganholidays leads to God's wrath. The Bibleshows God's people observing His Holydays in the OT and NT.We are convinced that all the "Christian"holidays were of pagan origin. If you study the Bible and history, you willfind that the first century church did notcelebrate any of the current holidays; theycelebrated the Biblical Holy Days. Both history and the Bible verify this:The Church kept God's days - notHalloween, Christmas or Easter: Christkept God's Holy days when He was on theearth and the early church followed in Hisfootsteps:• Acts 2:1 Kept Pentecost together.• Acts 12:3-4 Passover andunleavened bread significantearmarks for church.• Acts 18:21 Kept Tabernacles.• Acts 20:6 Kept days of unleavenedbread.• Acts 27: 9 Kept Atonement.• I Corinthians 5:2 uses puffed upbecause it was days of unleavenedbread.• I Corinthians 5:7 says to keep feastof unleavened bread.• I Corinthians 16:8 Paul waited tokeep Pentecost before leaving.• The Holy days are prophetic in natureCol 2:14-17.2728

• The Holy days are shadows of thingsthat are to come. Therefore Christdied on the very day of the Passover. The Holy Spirit was given on thespecific day of Pentecost. WhenChrist returns, He will force the worldto keep these same days.• Zechariah 14:16 makes nations keepTabernacles.• Ezekial 45:21 Unleavened breadkept in Millennium.• Isaiah 66:23 Sabbath new moonskept then.Christ is the same in the past, the presentand future - Malachi 3:6, Hebrew 13:8.For this reason we will suggest thatChristians should NOT be celebratingcounterfeits that came later. There isnothing to be gained spiritually from these. There is harm in the keeping of them inthat they distract and muddy the wholepurpose of why man exists and what God'spurpose for man really is. The symbolismof all the other holidays is earth related orsex related. We should instead celebrate thesymbolism of the rich, meaningful HolyDays God gave, as we look forward toeach step in the fulfillment of His Plan.We Believe That All Of TheseStatements Are True:You must have a personal relationshipwith Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches that all people are goingto Hell if they don't have a personalrelationship with Jesus Christ. You're notgoing straight to Hell if you dress up yoursweet little girl as a ballerina on Halloweenand have fun. You are going to Hell if youdon't have a personal relationship withJesus Christ. It's a completely differentreason you're going to Hell. Going to Hellhas nothing to do with being good or bad,but only on your relationship with Jesus.2930

Teach the truth in loveThe Bible actually has a few other versesin it beside that one that everyone seemsto know about, "Love your neighbors".Loving your neighbor does not includealways being nice at all costs.Sometimes to love someone, you mustdisagree with them, correct them, instructthem, or provoke them. If you want todisregard the Bible as a source of truth, that's fine, but then you can't bring it uplater as a reason to prove us wrong. If youare going to accept the Bible as a source oftruth, we can both talk from a commonpoint of view.Witches are realWitches really do exist and their theology ismutually exclusive with Christianity. If yousay you are a “Christian Witch”, then youeither don't understand Christianity or youdon't understand Witches. Christianity hasa point of view that includes an explanationof Witches. Our view is that Satan isdeceiving them and that they are beingguided by demonic spirits. Witches have apoint of view that includes an explanationof Christianity. Their view is that we aredeceived and unenlightened; that we don'tunderstand that the earth is the source ofall power and life. Witches do not believein or worship Satan. They believe thatSatan was invented by Christians to instillguilt and obedience. Christians do believethat Satan exists and has influence overpeople here, now on earth, maybe even atyour house.3132

There is only One TruthThere is only ONE truth. We can argue allday about what that truth is, but there'sonly one. If you and I disagree, we bothcan't be right. This is true about religiousstuff too. We can't all be right. Our belief isthat you are going to Hell if you don't havea personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If you want to be "tolerant of everyone'sbeliefs", then you have to accept our beliefthat you are wrong. There is evil in the history behindHalloweenMost of us think of Halloween as a timewhen kids dress up in costume and begfor candy. Adults dress up on costumes, eat candy and go to parties. For candy manufacturers Halloween is agreat time of year, but, the image of happylittle faces chiming out a cute "Twick orTweet," begging for candy is a facade.A good look into the long history of thefestivities of October 31 st reveals a darkand chilling religious holiday. The major Pagan Sabbaths (holidays) areSamhain (November's Eve/October 31) thefeast of the dead, (harvest season ends, winter begins) when the line that separatesthe world of the living and the world of thedead is thinnest, Oimelc (February 1) thewinter purification festival and Beltane(May 1) the great fertility festival. The dominant theme of Samhain is andhas been one of ghosts, evil spirits and thedead. An echo of this theme is found in Mexico's"Day of the Dead" when the spirits of thedead wander the earth and are placatedwith offerings and treats. The Mexicantraditions came from the Aztecs. TheEuropean Pagan traditions came from theEgyptians. And before that?3334

Most popular American Halloweentraditions come from the Irish (Celtic)Druidic celebrations of Samhain.Costumed followers of the Druid god MuckOlla went from house to house asking forcontributions. If one donated one waspromised continued blessings from MuckOlla. If one failed to give one would sufferbad crops and big trouble. On Halloweenwe call this "Trick or Treat". The rest of theyear it's called extortion.Jack O’Lanterns has a sinister historyJack was an Irish scoundrel who liked toeat big red turnips. One day he trappedthe devil in a tree and wouldn't let himdown until the devil promised Jack he'dnever live in Hell. The devil agreed. Ayear later Jack died. An unbelievingscoundrel, he couldn't get into heaven. The devil wouldn't let him into hell. To helpJack find his way back to earth, the devilgave him a fiery coal.Jack put the fiery coal in the lantern hecarved from his big turnip. This first "JackO'Lantern" helped Jack find his way backto Ireland.Halloween is shared by the practitionersof black MagicIt is a night of occult celebration and darkdeeds. The dead return, evil spirits playtricks and humans honor them in costumeand deeds. While soaping windows is apractical joke, putting razor blades in candyisn't. The church has a tradition of"Halloween" alternatives. The Roman Catholic Church adoptedHalloweenNovember Eve is October 31 st , the daybefore November 1 st . In AD 835 theRoman Catholic Church designatedNovember 1 st as All Saint's Day to honorall the saints who didn't have a day whenthey were honored.3536

One of the reasons for such a day was tocounter the popular celebration ofSamhain and other October 31 stcelebrations. October 31 st then becameknown as All Hallows Eve (Halloween), theday before All Hallows Day.The church adopted some of the practicesof Samhain such as dressing up incostumes.PRAYER NOTESGo for the capstone of the pyramid• The ROOT of Halloween – Druidism.• The STRONGMAN behindHalloween is the strongman behindDruidism.• Go for the DRUID and go for theSHAMANISTIC.• Target Nature Worship and theseasonal cycle.• To pray effectively you need to breakthe Whole Seasonal Cycle ofDruidic celebrations, not just the onecog known as Halloween.Pray against the following "bricksin the pyramid"Halloween is just a brick in the pyramid, just ONE aspect of Druidism.• …the strongman behind seasonaland agricultural or NATURE worship.3738
