This means that the sector operateswithout a guaranteed, permanent hub of professional practitioners. The effects on continuity,quality and strategic planning can only be detrimental.The sector is dominated by women (72% of employees). Of the 1 013 women employed in thesample, 809 or (80%) are contract employees.
