systems functions now performed by FPIA and Pathfinder.<br />

Workshop <strong>part</strong>icipants included FHS Project Administrator John<br />

McWilliam, FPIA Project Director Uche Azie, FPIA Program Officer<br />

Bright Ekweremadu, Pathfinder Country Representative Mike Egboh,<br />

and FPLM consultant Cliff Olson.<br />

2. FPIA/Pathfinder Logistic Systems Functions<br />

The <strong>part</strong>icipants identified the following public and private<br />

sector contraceptive logistics systems functions currently<br />

performed by FPIA and Pathfinder:<br />

FPIA<br />

0 forecast national public and private sector annual<br />

contraceptive require..,ents, and provide these requirements<br />

to AID/W through FPIA/NY;<br />

* receive at its New Windsor, MD, warehouse contraceptive<br />

supplies ordered by FPIA/NY and procured by AID/W;<br />

" ship public and private sector contraceptives to Nigeria;<br />

* oversee the agreement with Sterling for the receipt and<br />

storage at its Territorial warehouses and depots of public<br />

sector contraceptives;<br />

* arrange clearance of contraceptive shipments;<br />

* arrange delivery from Sterling/Lagos to state warehouses,<br />

and occasionally to Sterling depots;<br />

* in response to Pathfinder provided information, arrange<br />

with Sterling for the periodic delivery of public sector<br />

contraceptives to the appropriate locations;<br />

0 arrange deliveries of private sector contraceptives to<br />

private sector organizations, institutions, and projects;<br />

* monitor usage of USAID supplied private sector<br />

contraceptive;<br />
