Picture the Hodge family, moving west of Nashville and building ahome near the Natchez Trace. They had afew neighbors, the Harding family at BelleMeade and the Davis' at Devon Farm, butthey were on their own, in wild, wild westNashville. The Hodge House was built around 1811and occupied by relatives of the Hodgefamily until January 1928. Then the propertybecame part of Warner Parks. For decades Parks’ employees and their families lived in HodgeHouse. After the last employee moved out in 1991, Friends of Warner Parks became interested inrepairing the deteriorating building. Through support from Friends of Warner Parks and MetroParks, the Hodge House was restored between 2002 and 2009.On Saturday, November 12, Warner Parks will celebrate the 200th anniversary of HodgeHouse. The day will begin with a volunteer program in the morning and a reception in theafternoon. We will also lead children through an archaeological "dig" of reclaimed soil from thesite.
