<strong>Test</strong>ing procedureThis is not a self test. You should nevertest yourself. <strong>Alcohol</strong> impairs judgment.Wait 15 minutes after last alcoholic drink,if you cannot wait, rinse your mouth withwater before taking the test.Open the clear plastic pouch andremove the <strong>Alcohol</strong>-<strong>Breath</strong> test device.Squeeze the middle of the tester betweenthumb and forefinger to break inner glasstube. <strong>Test</strong>ing procedureSubject should hold tester vertically so arrowson BLOW end are pointing down. Subjectshould then BLOW/EXHALE very hardinto tube, in one continuous breath, for12 seconds.Shake the tester side-to-side to distribute thecrystals evenly in tester window. Reading resultsAfter 2 minutes compare results to an unused tester or to the yellowbox on the package insert. If most of the crystals are NOT green or blue(under the suggested lighting), then the result is negative.The color change may be difficult to see under certain lighting. For best results, readunder lighting such as incandescent, fluorescent or indirect sunlight. A flashlight with anincandescent bulb can be used to help read the result. Result interpretationPRESUMPTIVE POSITIVE*Most of the crystals are a light AQUA (GREEN/BLUE, BLUE/GREEN) cast.This shows the breath alcohol is at or above the level printed on the tester.*A more specific alternate chemical method must be used in order to obtain a confirmed analytical result. Pleasecontact a <strong>Redwood</strong> <strong>Toxicology</strong> <strong>Laboratory</strong> sales representative to review confirmation test options.NEGATIVEMost of the crystals, are light YELLOW. This shows that the breath alcoholis below the level printed on the <strong>Test</strong>er.The YELLOW does not have to match the unused tester.
