The <strong>English</strong> <strong>an</strong>d EU law courseis designed predom<strong>in</strong><strong>an</strong>tly for law students, tra<strong>in</strong>ee <strong>an</strong>d practis<strong>in</strong>g lawyers <strong>in</strong> Central<strong>an</strong>d Eastern Europe but our students have also <strong>in</strong>cluded tr<strong>an</strong>sla<strong>to</strong>rs, l<strong>in</strong>guists <strong>an</strong>dstudents from o<strong>the</strong>r discipl<strong>in</strong>es such as <strong>in</strong>ternational relations <strong>an</strong>d europe<strong>an</strong> studies.


Course StructureThe course comprises a one year course consist<strong>in</strong>g of four modules with <strong>an</strong> option(subject <strong>to</strong> sufficient student numbers) for a two year diploma course consist<strong>in</strong>g ofeight modules (normally studied <strong>in</strong> two consecutive years).Successful students will be awarded a certificate (after one year course) /diploma(two year course) <strong>in</strong> “<strong>an</strong> <strong>Introduction</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>English</strong> <strong>an</strong>d Europe<strong>an</strong> Union <strong>Law</strong> “ <strong>an</strong>dwill also be entitled <strong>to</strong> receive appropriate course credits/ exemptions <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir localuniversity degree (more details on this should be requested from <strong>the</strong> local universityprogramme direc<strong>to</strong>r).


Teach<strong>in</strong>g methods <strong>an</strong>d materials• The course comprises a flexible learn<strong>in</strong>g system <strong>in</strong>corporat<strong>in</strong>g comprehensiveworkbooks <strong>an</strong>d use of textbooks or readers for each module as appropriate• Sem<strong>in</strong>ar <strong>an</strong>d tu<strong>to</strong>rial visits by tu<strong>to</strong>rs/virtual contacts• Individual private study by student.• Modules taught consecutively• Individual registration on moodle <strong>in</strong>teractive system, enabl<strong>in</strong>g contact with tu<strong>to</strong>rs<strong>an</strong>d o<strong>the</strong>r students <strong>in</strong> between tu<strong>to</strong>r visits.
