We are leaving from the Dade CountySheriff’s Office (75 C<strong>as</strong>e Avenue, Trenton, GA. 30752) and runningSouth on Highway 11 and going to Highway 136 E<strong>as</strong>t and making <strong>as</strong>top and Dade County High School. While at the school, we aremeeting with the Special Olympians. We are then getting on a bus andtraveling South on Highway 11 and getting dropped off about 6 milesfrom the Alabama state line. We are going to continue the run Southon Highway 11 to the Alabama State line.Tuesday, May 11 thMiddle GA (Perry, Houston County, Warner Robins, Macon)Contact: Warner Robins Police Department; Capt. Davis, Up Davis to 247.At that point we will have bikes and cars that will bring the torch up tothe meeting point with Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. <strong>Run</strong>ningdistance is 2.7 miles. Bikes to meeting point with Bibb County is 8miles. Route will continue into Bibb County.Wednesday, May 12 thMuscogee CountyContact: Columbus Police Department; Sgt. Fromthere, they will run along the Byp<strong>as</strong>s to Valley Point Elementarywhere they will greet students. The run in Cherokee County will be about3 miles. We can also take a detourin each City for a photo opportunity in front of your agency orbuilding if you would like to.We will leave Marietta PD at 0745hrs and travel to 92 @ I-75 to waitfor Cherokee SO. We will travel in a couple of vehicles and ap<strong>as</strong>senger van. Any agency that wishes to can meet us here or we canall meet at the scene.

We will stay on Mt Vernon until we reach ChambleeDunwoody Rd where we will turn left onto Chamblee Dunwoody Rd.We will travel to the first traffic light and turn left into the Publixparking lot. The route is approximately 3.7 miles


Friday, May 21 stGA State Capitol to Emory University*Everyone is invited and highly encouraged to participate in this run!Contact:Press Conference to be held with Governor Sonny Perdue and SpecialOlympics Athletes and members of the <strong>Law</strong> <strong>Enforcement</strong> <strong>Torch</strong> <strong>Run</strong>Final Leg Team. The program will start at 9:00 am and will includeguest speakers, key sponsors, LETR State Director and athletes onhand. At 9:20am the torch will be lit and p<strong>as</strong>sed off to Atlanta PD andothers and the run will begin. We will run to the former Atlanta PDHeadquarters on Ponce and then continue through Atlanta and onto theEmory University campus where the torch will be brought onto theQuad for it’s final resting spot.
