Short Vita – <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>Mueller</strong> – <strong>Producer</strong>:<br />
Having two degrees in Economics (Germany) and Film Production (Australia)<br />
<strong>Christian</strong> <strong>Mueller</strong> has founded his Film Production Company, “Eyecatch Productions” in<br />
2003. Eyecatch Productions is producing Live-Audio-Visual-Events, Image- and Short-films<br />
and providing production services for feature films. In combination with his work as freelance<br />
project supervisor at the Institute of Animation at Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg he has<br />
wide experience in producing and running live-action and animated films, especially with<br />
VFX, in Germany and Australia.<br />
Long Vita – <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>Mueller</strong> – <strong>Producer</strong>:<br />
In 1977 <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>Mueller</strong> was born in Saarbruecken, Germany. Besides his studies of<br />
Economics with majors in Marketing and International Management at Hohenheim<br />
University, Germany, he finished his Honours Degree in Bachelor of Creative Arts (film<br />
production) at Flinders University, Adelaide (Australia), being best student producer of his<br />
year.<br />
In 2003 <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>Mueller</strong> founded his film production company „Eyecatch<br />
Productions“ (www.eyecatchproductions.de). Since January 2006 he is also freelance working<br />
for the Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction of Filmakademie<br />
Baden-Wuerttemberg. Having been mainly responsible for the sections „schools“ and<br />
„realtime film festival“ for the fmx/06 (www.fmx.de), one of the worlds best known<br />
international conferences on Animation, Effects, Games and Digital Media, he is currently<br />
responsible for the production supervision of student projects (3 rd and 4 th year) and third party<br />
productions.<br />
Between 2002 and 2008 Eyecatch Productions has produced several shorts,<br />
documentaries, feature and industrial films for different clients in Germany and Australia,<br />
such as Bayerischer Rundfunk, Robert Bosch GmbH, Muenchner Filmwerkstatt,<br />
Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele and Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg. With his germanpolish<br />
animation project “The Time” he has been nominee for the 2007 Promotional Prize for<br />
Joint Film Productions (Robert Bosch Stiftung). The major projects in 2007 have been his<br />
work as Line <strong>Producer</strong> Germany for the 90min long german-japanese feature film “Der Rote<br />
Punkt” (AT, Muenchner Filmwerkstatt) and the 45min long short feature “LEA” (KHM Köln)<br />
that has been screened in the section „PERSPEKTIVE DEUTSCHES KINO“ at Berlinale<br />
2008.<br />
In 2007, <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>Mueller</strong> has been invited to take part in the talent program of<br />
“Cartoon Movie” (European biggest animated movie coproduction conference,<br />
http://www.cartoon-media.be/MOVIE/index.php). In 2008 he has been invited to participate<br />
in the talent program of “goEast Projektbörse” (www.filmfestival-goeast.de). He also has<br />
been offered the chance to attend the 2008 “Sarajevo Talent Campus” (www.sff.ba).<br />

Production Fields of Interest – <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>Mueller</strong> – <strong>Producer</strong>:<br />
Having worked in the area of film production in Germany and Australia, <strong>Christian</strong><br />
<strong>Mueller</strong> is always interested in further enhancing his international production contacts. At the<br />
moment <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>Mueller</strong> is not working in the area of documentaries.<br />
Seeing that different countries and people all around the world are more and more<br />
working together and getting to know each other, international coproductions will have a huge<br />
impact on the film industry. Especially in the area of Animation and VFX seem to be very<br />
promising opportunities in cooperation with Eastern-European countries. The special<br />
production fields of interest of <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>Mueller</strong> are listed below:<br />
Live-action films:<br />
In the area of live-action films Eyecatch Productions and especially <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>Mueller</strong><br />
offers a wide range of production services and is interested in further enhancing possibilities<br />
for international coproductions. The productions services contain basic services (location<br />
services for Baden-Wuerttemberg, Bavaria and Saarland; actors research; crew contacts;…),<br />
medium services (such as casting; contracting; technical and logistical support;…) or even<br />
Line Producing for the German part.<br />
VFX:<br />
In the area of VFX (computer generated effect in live-action films), <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>Mueller</strong><br />
is on the one hand especially interested in getting to know Eastern-European VFX-companies<br />
and/or producers and on the other hand developing cooperation structures for VFXproductions.<br />
Because of his work as production supervisor for the Institute of Animation of<br />
Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg (one of the world leading animation schools), <strong>Christian</strong><br />
<strong>Mueller</strong> is in good contact with many young and talented VFX-specialists and supervisors.<br />
Traditional Animation:<br />
Even though done with the computer and direct input graphic tablets traditional<br />
animation is still dominating the animation culture. Therefore <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>Mueller</strong> is looking<br />
into different ways of producing and realising traditional animation projects in 2D and 3D,<br />
computer or hand drawn. At the moment he is not working in the area of stop motion or<br />
puppet animation. Especially Eastern Europe with its long tradition in the field of traditional<br />
animation still seems to have many interesting companies and artists offering a wide range of<br />
project opportunities.<br />
