Instream Flow in Nebraska - Water Resources Board

What to do?NGPC believes the present flows in the river aresuitable to protect public trust resources and preservethe ecological values of the system. Fish and wildlife,including federally listed least terns, piping plovers,and whooping cranes use the river and reduced flowswould result in loss of critical habitat and increasepredation risks. Reduced flows would result in poorkayaking/tubing conditions and the loss of a uniquerecreational offering and impact the economy of thecommunity of Valentine, Nebraska which relies onsummer tourism.
