About this workshopThis special two-day event has beendesigned to offer a complete up-to-datereview of the effective understandingand use of the <strong>FIDIC</strong> <strong>Contracts</strong>currently in use. The <strong>FIDIC</strong><strong>Contracts</strong> Module 1 <strong>Workshop</strong>programme has beendesigned to be highly practicaland includes activeparticipation in ‘hands-on’workshops and discussion sessions.The two workshop leaders are highlyqualified in their experience of the <strong>FIDIC</strong><strong>Contracts</strong> and are both authors ofpublications on the Contract Conditions.The International Federation of Consulting Engineers(<strong>FIDIC</strong>) has, over the years, issued a number of standarddocuments for use on construction projects. His experienceincludes ICC arbitration, litigationand dispute adjudication as wellas contract drafting andprocurement strategy. He hasworked for contractors as wellas for employers, funders andconsultants. He regularlyadvises some of Europe’s majorconstruction players and hisusual caseload involves projectsin Europe, Africa, South-EastAsia, the Indian Sub-continentand the Middle East. He is aFellow of the Chartered Instituteof Arbitrators, an accreditedadjudicator and mediator and aPanellist of the AmericanArbitration Association. He isthe author of ‘<strong>FIDIC</strong> 4th –A Practical Legal Guide’.He has lectured extensively onconstruction law and inparticular on <strong>FIDIC</strong>’s standardforms of contract.He is previous co-chair of theInternational ConstructionProjects committee of theInternational Bar Associationand is a member of the WorkingGroup of <strong>FIDIC</strong> which drafted theShort Form of Contract and theDredging Contract.
