TOUR PROGRAMME<br />
Since 2006, the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film has been<br />
organising a yearly tour programme with a selection of the best<br />
animated films from the previous festival which is presented worldwide.<br />
The tour comprises two programmes: Best of International<br />
Competition and the BW Reel with the best films made in Baden-<br />
Wuerttemberg and the Stuttgart region, Germany. Alongside exciting<br />
impressions of the Festival, the viewers get to watch all of the<br />
trailers – exclusively produced for the festival at the Filmakademie<br />
Baden-Wuerttemberg they were met with a lot of enthusiasm by<br />
the audience thanks to their high quality.<br />
THE STUTTGART FESTIVAL<br />
OF ANIMATED FILM<br />
The festival was founded in 1982 and has become a vital<br />
event for animated film film in Germany as well as one of the the most<br />
important festivals for animated film around the world. On six<br />
festival days, almost 1,000 international films are screened<br />
with directors and producers attending the screenings. The<br />
whole range of animated films is on offer – from animated<br />
short films, student and children’s films to feature films and<br />
TV series as well as commercials.<br />
As the biggest event of its kind in Germany, the Stuttgart Festival<br />
of Animated Film reaches around 80,000 viewers and roughly<br />
2,000 accredited guests. For years, the high-profile programme<br />
and the unique festival atmosphere with the big LED screen,<br />
centrally located at Stuttgart’s Schlossplatz have been earning<br />
praise and appreciation from filmmakers and people from the<br />
industry sector, press and audience alike. The Stuttgart Festival<br />
of Animated Film is considered as a popular meeting point and<br />
networking opportunity for the animated film industry around<br />
the world.<br />
The 20th Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film will take<br />
place from 23 – 28 April, 2013<br />

BEST OF INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION<br />
…is a collection of the best international animated short fi lms from the Stuttgart<br />
Festival of Animated Film 2012. The programme includes the whole spectrum of<br />
animation techniques – from 3D computer animation to classical hand-drawn<br />
