46In the heart of South Africa’s most prestigious and expensive areaon Cape Town’s Atlantic seaboard

Surrounded by the best that Cape Town has to offer.Ocean, Mountains and unspoiled Nature. All in one property.49

50Admire the spectacular views from every vantage point on the property

52Living and Dining surrounded by the majesty of mountain peaks.

54Unobstructed splendour at every turn

Cape Town’s grandest and most palatial mansion occupies more than 7000 m 2 of the most prestigious residential area on the entireAtlantic seaboard. It is located in a protected triangle between three streets in the heart of the Glen, a setting between Camps Bay andClifton, secluded and sheltered from the sometimes strong summer and seasonal winds. The property is just 50 metres away from theTable Mountain Park and adjoins a nature reserve on two other boundaries. It has its own little stream, 6000 m 2 of park and gardens withwaterways, ponds and unobstructed views of Cape Town’s famous landmarks: Lion’s Head, Table Mountain, The Twelve Apostles and TheAtlantic Ocean. At the boundary of the most tranquil residential area in Camps Bay the ENIGMA MANSION enjoys complete peace andquiet while only three minutes away from the vibrant cafes and restaurants in Camps Bay and on Clifton Beaches.55

The largest properties in this stylish area of Cape Town are usually not more than 1000 m 2 , but the ENIGMA MANSION stands gracefully on landfar larger than any other residence. Four different stands have been purchased over the years, and existing villas have been pulled down to be ableto create the glorious space for the residence and its extensive gardens. The main residence extends over 1586 m 2 (Basement 627 m 2 , Ground Floor638 m 2 , First Floor 321 m 2 ).56

58The studio at the lower west of the property with its separate street access has a living space of 264 m 2(Ground Floor 158 m 2 , First Floor 106 m 2 ).

The Enigma Mansion with its manicured gardens and parks is a world on its ownBuilt in the style of a grand residence in a bygone era, a mansion like this has existed onlyin places such as the South of France or Long Island.59

60The beauty of the mansion is surpassed only by the location of the entire property, gardens and views, which in all likelihood is the most spectacular on the entire South African coastline.

Ultimate LuxuryENIGMA MANSION surpasses even 7-star hotels when it comes to close attention to detail, where no expense is spared.Every single door handle, plates and even the hinges are gilded pieces of art hand-made in Argentina by the few craftsmen in the world who are able toreplicate the exquisite door handles from the time of Louis XIV.The hand printed wallpapers originate from ZUBER in Paris, fabrics are from Carlucci or Designers Guild. Zuber is recognised internationally as the Rolls Royceof fabrics and wallpapers, and is the only company in the world still using hand-printing techniques, resulting in unique, exclusive and highly prized creations. All chandeliers and wall lamps are either antique or handmade pieces and each is one of a kind. In addition, shades for these floor, table and wall lamps, aswell as the chandelier are hand-made to order by an artist in California. The shades are truly works of art, creating an enchanted light across the residence, especially if combined with the light mood settings chosen via the iPad. The brick walls have been covered with an ancient Moroccan technique similar toVenetian stucco. Such finely crafted work is rarely seen today. Visitors feel they are within hundred-year-old ancient marble walls, and it is hard to imaginethese walls were only completed in 2012.There are many original works of art throughout the residence, but the most rare is the graceful statue in the west lobby on the ground floor – an extremelyfine and beautiful classical white Carrara marble statue The Greek Slave by Scipione Tadolini (Rome, 1860), portraying a life-size figure of a female slavewearing a necklace inscribed in Greek ‘elpis’ (hope) and on her bracelet ‘istotes’ (fidelity), a turban headdress and drapery around one shoulder continuingacross her back and loins and cascading over a pedestal under which are chains. This may well be the most beautiful piece of art of its kind. The carpets in the house are sublime Persian Tabriz acquired from Essie in London, considered the world’s leading carpet expert.61

The 3D Cinema is another example of how effortless style, luxury and extreme comfort have been combined in one property. The columns in the lobbiesand stair halls are imported from Indian palaces, the surrounds in the movie theatre originated from a Moroccan palace. Even the kitchen islands have beenimported from France to achieve the quality and ambience only originals can deliver.Luxury combined with impeccable taste has created a one-of-a-kind property, which is unsurpassed in this part of the world.63

TechnologyThe ENIGMA MANSION utilises the latest available technology and software as well as customised programming to ensure effortless ease-of-use of alltechnology, as well as 100% reliability throughout the entire property. A full two years of planning, testing and reprogramming brought the system to its final, current state-of-the-art condition. The key for all controls are 38 iPads, which are recessed into the wall of each major room and can be released from their docking stations by the push of abutton, then used at any point in the same room. The iPad can be used for the following functions:Control of all lights in the same room by selecting 5 different mood settings. Control of animations in the same room.Selection and control of music from 4 different servers and hundreds of thousands of titles, artists and playlists. The iPad is also used for operating the TV in the same room and controlling the functions for selecting:a) DSTV satellite channels.b) Apple TV.c) Kaleidoscope Movie Server with thousands of stored movies and TV series (most popular TV series contain all episodes of all seasons).d) Blu-ray Player, 3D Players in the same room.e) iPod (Guests’ personal iPod is plugged in the same room and played via the music system).f) Music visualization – a programme that transforms selected music into millions of colours and animations on the screen in the room.g) Opening and closing of cinema screen curtains, or other specific TV functions such as the motorised elevation of TV screens into the ceiling of a room.h) Activation and control of Air Conditioning in the same room; activation and control of Underfloor Heating in the same room; activation of Gas Fireplaces.i) Shutting down security shutters in the Panic Room to close off the master bedroom suite from any outside access. Some iPads in key areas such as the entrance hall or master bedroom can perform the following additional functions:a) Activating and monitoring the Alarm System.b) Monitoring 36 security cameras throughout the entire property.c) Controlling the light mood settings of entire floors or entire residence.d) Controlling the music and video playing on entire floor or entire residence.e) Controlling the music and light for all outside areas including the pool. iPads in key areas are programmed to make pre-assigned light mood settingsavailable throughout the entire house. These settings can easily be chosen by selecting areas and moods and then, at the push of a button, all lamps inthe preferred area (up to the entire house, including all outside areas) are transformed into this lighting mood. Some global mood settings also includethe automatic switching on of fireplaces in certain rooms, activation of water features at the pool, or illumination and activation of the fountains in thecourtyard. In addition one can switch on animations by a famous French artist (these have been built and recessed into the walls in the basement and theground floors).64

f) Automatic opening of the cinema curtains, or releasing TVs which are built into the ceiling of rooms.g) Music and video pre-assigned settings can be accessed via one button on the iPad in each room. However, for the entire residence this can only beeffected from selected iPads so that these functions are not accidentally accessed from a guestroom. For example, it is possible to play the chosen playlistin all rooms in the entire house and simultaneously activate all TVs to play the visualization programmes in the entire house. All these functions are just asfar away as the nearest master iPad, which makes for exceptionally easy and convenient living. It is practically effortless to switch off all lights and music inand around the entire house. It is also possible to switch off all lights and electronics in the entire house using one of the iPads located in key areas suchas the master bedroom or entrance hall. ENIGMA MANSION has chosen a CISCO network designed for much larger complexes, and has spent substantialtime and money designing a system that guarantees the smooth operation of the residence and all internet-connected activities throughout the property.WiFi with the highest possible speed in South Africa is available in all rooms, as well as the outside areas of the estate.65

The Ground FloorThe ground floor is the venue for parties, get-togethers and family life. The LibraryThe plush 28 m 2 library with deep and distinctive wall fabric and curtains from Carlucci, lies on the south east corner of the residenceand shares views of the courtyard, and the tropical pond and garden on the south side. The double doors open wide to the south terracewhere, under the shade of the majestic Georgian columns, lounge chairs with unobstructed views of original tropical vegetation, TableMountain and the Twelve Apostles, offer respite from the stresses of urban living.67

The library with high ceilings and hand-carved cornices is furnished with antique couches and Louis IV chairs, an elegant coffee table, two hand-carved bookcases, an antique English gas fireplace (controlled via iPad), a hand-carved gilded desk with marble top inlay created by an artist in Italy, exquisite Persian Tabrizcarpets from Essie in London covering the old Indonesian wooden floor, as well as an exceptional chandelier and floor lamps. The latest generation PC withhidden printer, scanner and fax machine is ready for work in a relaxing and soothing environment. This includes different mood settings for all lamps in the entire room, as well as an extensive choice of music from ENIGMAMANSION’s four different music servers, control of the air conditioning (invisible and discreetly silent), and the operation of the fireplace, alarm and underfloorheating, in addition to all TV, video and movie library, DSTV, Satellite, Apple TV and Blu-ray Player functions. The phone system in this room (as in any othermajor room) connects via wireless phones to all employees working on the property, and all rooms and outside areas can be reached by simply pressing therequired extension.68

Media RoomThe opulent 28 m 2 media room with high ceilings, old Indonesian wooden floor and hand carved cornices is the inspirational space forcreating music and artistic videos. It is located on the north east corner of the residence, with views over the courtyard and its fountain andalcoves. as well as the north lawn with views of Lion’s Head and the garden. The latest generation Loewe TV with Blu-ray Player, Apple MacComputer, Fax, Scanner, Printer, PBX Phone system, CD changer and CD burner are essential elements of this room.69

Superb dark wall fabrics and curtains frame this luxurious room which is decorated with antique carpet and couches, Louis IV chairs, a coffee table, beautifuloriginal art by Simona Marziani, antique and original chandeliers and floor lamps, two hand-carved book cases which house a huge selection of DVDs andmusic CDs. However the largest music and video selection is channelled through the residence’s own four servers where a selection of literally hundreds ofthousands of music titles, artists and playlists of any genre and compilation, can be selected to play in this room, on the ground floor, or even the entireresidence just by pushing the desired choice on the iPad screen. The in-house Kaleidoscope movie server system allows the viewer to choose via iPad from thousands of stored movies and TV series (some of the most famousinclude all episodes of all seasons ever produced). This is available via iPad in any major room of the house as well as the Cinema at the push of a button.Apple TV is available in every major room as well as a music visualization programme that transforms the current music playing into millions of colours andvisual effects. All electric and electronic functions here as in every other room, are controlled via iPad. This includes not only different mood settings for all lamps, and musicchoice from the house’s own four different music servers, but also the control of the unseen and silent air conditioning, the alarm and underfloor heating aswell as all TV, DSTV, Satellite, Apple TV, video and movie library, Blu-ray Player functions and the activation of a special computer-driven programme, whichvisualizes any music playing anywhere in the residence on all TVs and screens at just the touch of a button. This experience, in the evening hours and at night, transforms the entire residence into a place of enchantment where your senses can drift away. The phone system in this room connects to all employeesworking on the property at the touch of a single button via wireless phones. All rooms and outside areas can be reached by simply pressing the requiredextension.70

Stair HallThe entrance hall, all ground floor lobbies, as well as the stair hall (basement, ground floor and first floor), are covered with beautiful untreated TurkishTravantino tiles resulting in the feeling of entering an ancient Roman palace. For an entire year, an artist from Spain worked with a team of eight people on allwalls in the common areas and the entire stair hall, applying a traditional Moroccan technique which creates the appearing of old marble walls. The techniqueused is extremely time-intensive and can best be compared with Venetian stucco. While Venetian stucco is a modern version of this ancient Moroccantechnique, it cannot compete with the beauty of this artistic approach. These walls in the stair hall and lobbies seem to have existed for hundreds of years, although in truth they were only completed in 2012.The entrance hall, lobby and stair hall have old chandeliers from Cuba, and a magnificent dome crowns the stair hall. The dome is indirectly illuminated duringthe day but as soon as evening descends, the light switches to thousands of moving star lights, which are recessed into the dome’s paintwork, art inspiredby images of the Universe from world-renowned scientist, Stephen Hawkins. Artists worked for eight months on this ceiling, and as soon as the LED stars areilluminated at night, a feeling of enchantment fills the entire residence. All lights in the stair halls are controlled by normal switches as well as via the iPads, which are located in the entrance hall, south ground lobby, basement lobby and first floor west and east lobby. The iPads are built into the walls and can beoperated in the wall, but also released from their docking stations.71

iPads are programmed to make pre-assigned light mood settings easily available. Selecting areas and moods can activate these settings, when with the push ofa button all lamps in the chosen area (up to the entire house including all outside areas) reflect this lighting mood. Some mood settings include the automaticswitching on/off of fireplaces in certain rooms, activation/deactivation of water features at the pool or illumination and activation of the fountains in thecourtyard, as well as switching on/off of animations (created by a famous French artist, and built and recessed into the walls in the basement and the groundfloors), automatic opening of the Cinema’s curtains, or releasing TVs which are built into the ceiling of rooms.Pre-assigned music and video settings can be accessed via one button on the iPad. For example, it is possible to play the chosen playlist in all rooms in the entirehouse, while at the same time activate all TVs to play the visualization programmes. All these functions are just as far away as the nearest iPad, and it makesfor easy and convenient living. It is also very simple to switch off all lights and music in and around the whole house. Switching off all lights and electronics inthe entire house can be effected from one of the iPads in key areas such as the master bedroom or entrance hall. All stone floors on all levels throughout theresidence have underfloor heating – the temperature is controlled via the iPad, as is the control of the air conditioning for each room and each area.A team of six dedicated staff members ensures that everything is fully functional at all times, and that it is a pleasure to operate the system. The most importantbasic feature of the operation of this system is an extensive and 100% reliable network.72

Reception RoomOn the west side of the residence facing the Atlantic Ocean is the eclectic, elegant and at the same time warmly cosy reception room. Turquoise and gold fabricwallpaper from Designers Guild contrasts gently with the superb light pink Iranian Tabriz carpet from Essie of London that covers the untreated Indonesianantique wood floor. High ceilings with huge golden pelmets with Designers Guild curtains in pink and gold, large natural palm trees in antique flower pots hintat ‘Casablanca’ and a feeling of being in Cuba. A mix of antique couches and ottomans side by side with modern lounge chairs covered in breathtaking fabricsand colours makes the reception room a feast for the eye. An antique Louis XIV mirror, a ‘table de jeux‘, complements an exquisite chandelier together with floorand table lamps which all have been hand-made in California for the ENIGMA MANSION, and are as unique as the rest of the room. Three double doors on thewest and south side open onto the west and south terrace that are furnished with lounges and couches in the style of ‘The Great Gatsby’. On the north side, the reception room leads through an elegant opening of hand carved wood to the west lobby, which faces the dining room. Here, facing the terrace as well asthe reception and dining room, in graceful pose, stands an exceptionally fine and beautiful classical white Carrara marble statue of The Greek Slave by ScipioneTadolini (Rome, 1860) portraying a life-size figure of a female slave wearing a necklace inscribed in Greece ‘elpis’ (hope) and on her bracelet ‘pistotes’ (fidelity),a turban headdress and drapery around one shoulder continuing across her back and loins, and cascading over a pedestal under which are chains. This is in alllikelihood the most beautiful work of art of its kind, and it can immediately be seen by entering the residence through the entrance hall. The statue is centred onthe middle line of the residence with a straight view through all the lobbies and entire stair hall to the west terrace, huge indigenous tree, and the Atlantic Ocean.73

Dining RoomSituated on the west side of the residence the 30 m 2 dining room overlooks the west terrace with its lounge chairs and the spectacular viewof the gardens and the Atlantic Ocean. On the north side double doors lead to the 12-seater dining room outside terrace situated under abeautiful pergola with the view over the pool, the Atlantic Ocean and Lion’s Head. A diverse mix of furniture and decorations greets you:75

a huge very old white dining table, plush chairs, elaborate candelabra, unique wall lamps and chandelier, antique hand-printed golden wall paper from Zuberin Paris, high ceilings, gilded pelmets and Carlucci curtains. The ceiling is painted by Spanish artist Romero with motifs from the era of Louis XIV. Exotic cornices, hand-carved in Bali, frame his work. Original paintingsgrace the walls – Naked Lunch by Francois Correns; and Michael J. Fitzgerald’s La Belle Epoque, together with an illuminated animation, Quatre Pas dans lesÉtoiles by the famous Belgian artist Franck Tassi. His animations (of which there are three in the residence) cannot be adequately described, but must be seento truly understand their beauty and enigmatic story. Dining takes place using the inspired 32-piece china from Versace (Le Jardin de Versace and/or Les Tresorsde La Mer), while the wine and champagne glasses – better described as glass jewellery than as a simple glass – are fashioned by a French artist. All electricand electronic functions of this room, as all others, are controlled via iPad. This includes not only different light mood settings for all lamps in the entire roomas well as music choice from the residence’s own four music servers, but also the control of the invisible and silent air conditioning, the alarm and underfloorheating. The PBX phone system in this room connects to all employees working on the property via wireless phones at the push of a single button, and allrooms and outside areas can be contacted by simply pressing the required extension. The dining room is connected directly to the kitchen on the east side ofthe room.76

The French Kitchen: Bon Appetit77

The kitchen is not only the place to cook, but also the true heart of the home – the place to live most of the time. With its own lobby and kitchen storagearea, the 54 m 2 space also connects to the dining room and the breakfast terrace. Outstanding features include a rough brick floor in the style used hundredsof years ago, hand-painted walls gilded by artists, old coloured windows and doors from a mansion in Buenos Aires, an original chandelier and antique walllamps from California, high rounded and gilded ceilings, two massive La Cornue Kitchen islands from France, and a 200-year-old marble wood-burningfireplace from an English castle. While sitting at the breakfast table looking through the open metal doors, guests are able to view the north breakfast terracewith Parisian-style petite coffee tables and chairs and Lion’s Head in the background. On a colder day they can approach the wood-burning fireplace wherea suspended Philips cinema, 3D TV screen (21: 9 format) has been installed, and where any programme from the residence’s four servers, including DSTV,satellite, Kaleidoscope movie server and Apple TV can be viewed.Listen to music while you are cooking or sitting on the kitchen terrace under the shade of the Balinese umbrellas. Hundreds of thousands of titles are availablevia the built-in iPad and surround system installed in the kitchen. As in any other room, all electric and electronic functions are controlled via the iPad. Thisincludes different light mood settings for all lamps, and the playing of music and video, and also the control of the air conditioning, the alarm and underfloorheating. The kitchen intercom connects visually with the arrival at any of the four main gates of the property. Service required by guests in the master bedroom,as well as the three guest bedroom suites are indicated in the kitchen by illuminated green and red buttons which alert personnel regarding which room wantsservice or which should not be disturbed. The PBX phone system in the kitchen conforms to the mansion standard, and connects at the push of a single buttonto all employees working on the property via wireless phones. All rooms and outside areas can be reached by simply pressing the required extension.78

Living Room79

More than 60 m 2 of pure luxury and elegance are combined in the living room – the perfect setting for any fashion or beauty photo shoot. With access from themain stair hall as well as from the reception room, the living room has three huge double doors opening towards the south terrace, situated in front of the tropicalpond with spectacular views of the Twelve Apostles mountain range behind the banana trees bordering the property. The world’s largest Panasonic TV is recessedin one of the walls, and eight large recessed loudspeakers fill the room with the ultimate sound experience. While many rooms in the residence display variedand understated elegance, this room is not afraid to define luxury. An antique Argentinian wall panel inspired artists in Bali. They created the magnificent corniceframing the ceiling, which was painted by local artist Ilaria. The result is pure beauty.A mediaeval Master could scarcely have bettered the work. Fabric covers the walls with a pink/gold motif from Designers Guild, while the curtains in turquoise/pink share the same motif. Gilded pelmets frame the curtains and a 600 x 400 rare and sumptuous Persian Tabriz carpet covers the old Indonesian wood floor.Fully gilded main doors hand-carved with Louis XIV motifs catch the eye, but, an original painting Stolen Generation by Simona Manziani features prominently, andtwo huge palm trees in antique pots frame the corners of the room. Many eclectic floor lamps with beautiful shades, two breathtaking chandeliers from California, and an endless variety of colourful couches, chairs, loungers and ottomans evoke abundant luxury, but also a bygone era. All electric and electronic functionsof this and every other are controlled via an iPad. This includes not different mood settings for all lamps in the entire room as well as the choice of music fromthe house’s four different music servers, but also the control of the silent and invisible air conditioning, the alarm and underfloor heating, as well as all TV, DSTV,Satellite, Apple TV, video and movie library, Blu-ray Player functions and the activation of a special computer driven programme which visualizes any music playinganywhere in the residence on all TVs and screens at just the push of a button on the iPad.This experience, especially in the evening hours and at night, transforms the residence into a place of enchantment, where one’s senses drift away. The phonesystem here, as in every room, connects at the push of a single button to all employees working on the property via wireless phones and all rooms and outsideareas can be reached by simply pressing the required extension.80

The First FloorThe first floor is entirely dedicated to the west-facing master suite with two bathrooms, two showers and walk-in closet. The 200-year-old antique mirror, another artwork fromSimona Marziani titled Bollywood Woman, and erotic but playful images of Veronika, the host of the ENIGMA MANSION, complement the peaceful ambience. Two extremely fine, sand coloured Persian Tabriz carpets from the world’s leading carpet expert (Essie/London), grace the light old Indonesian wooden floors. The ceiling depicts a clear blue sky with autumn leaves blowing in the wind. This is a flawless suite of incomparable beauty. It is simple and pure perfection. Thedimensions and colours of the room, and the proportions combine to make the suite grand and cosy at the same time, and the miraculous view is enhanced bythe graceful and effortless design. While maintaining its aesthetic beauty, the master suite has been designed to serve as a panic room. Pressing of one buttonreleases noiseless metal shutters on all entry points, ensuring the room is 100% safe from any intruder. Red panic buttons are located in the master suite as91

part of the light switch panels. They alert armed guards who will be on the property within two minutes. The suite contains state-of-the-art technology: massivehigh-end speakers have been recessed into the west wall, the 3D cinema (21:9) Widescreen which is recessed into the ceiling in front of the bed, is controlled bythe iPad. The TV is released from the ceiling and lowered to eye level when any TV or Video programme is selected. If the TV is switched off it is automaticallyraised and recessed completely into the ceiling. The living room area of the suite has the latest generation 3D Samsung TV with surround system. A 3D Blu-rayPlayer is connected to both TVs in the living and bedroom sections of the master bedroom suite. This allows viewers to choose via iPad from thousands of stored movies and TV series (some of the most popularseries include every episode of all seasons ever produced). All are available via iPad at the push of a button in all major rooms of the house as well as in theCinema. Besides DSTV and Satellite, Apple TV is available as well as a music visualization programme that transforms the music into millions of colours and visualeffects. There is a connection for the guest’s own iPod so that music from this device can be played via the residence music system and speakers. All electric andelectronic functions of this suite, as in any other room, are controlled via the 3 iPads in this room (there are two more iPads in the gentleman’s and lady’s masterbathrooms). This includes not only different mood settings for all lamps in the entire room as well as music choice from the house’s own four different musicservers, the media room Apple MAC, CD changer or guest iPods, but also the control of the air conditioning which is invisible and silent, the on/off functionof the gas fireplace, the activation/deactivation of the alarm, the monitoring of 36 security cameras, control of underfloor heating as well as control of all TV,DSTV, Satellite, Apple TV, video and movie library, Blu-ray Player functions and the activation of a special computer-driven programme which visualizes any musicplaying anywhere in the residence on all TVs and screens at just the touch of a button on the iPad. This fantasy, when experienced in the evening hours andat night, makes the entire residence a place where your senses can drift away The PBX phone system in this suite, as in any other major room, connects to allemployees working on the property via wireless phones at the push of a single button, and all rooms and outside areas can be reached by simply pre ssing therequested extension. The entire residence and all outside areas are covered with a 100% stable CISCO network and all laptops/iPads can be connected via WiFiwith maximum speed throughout the property.Large walk-in closets with interior French hand-painted built-in closets on all four walls are equal in elegance and beauty with those in the presidential suite ofthe Ritz in Paris. The master bathrooms are as unique and eye-catching as the bedroom. The CinemaWelcome to an experience of a lifetime. Welcome to the residence’s own cinema inspired by the movie ‘Moulin Rouge’. Welcome to dark fabrics andplush couches, Moroccan and Indian influences, welcome to a heady and sensual atmosphere, heavy erotic perfumes in the style of old Paris. The owners of ENIGMA MANSION have travelled the globe for many years and lived in the world’s grandest and most elegant hotels. From the BelAir in Los Angeles to the Costes and Plaza Athenee in Paris, the Dorchester and The Lanesborough in London, the Baur au Lac in Zurich, the Imperialand Sacher in Vienna, The Peninsula in Beverly Hills, The Oriental in Bangkok, The Prince Maurice in Mauritius, The Tennerhof in Kitzbuehel, TheEden Roc in Cap d’Antibes … the experiences and memories of living in these superb hotels – sometimes for months or even years – provided theinspiration and ideas for the ENIGMA MANSION. The right mix between palatial surroundings and an inviting and cosy atmosphere from the moment103

you enter the residence was the most difficult ideal to achieve. Home away from home is not just a phrase here: It is transformed into reality the moment one entersthe house. The 80 m 2 cinema is the crown jewel of the residence, and upon its completion exceeded even the high expectations of the owners. ‘Despite living in theworld’s grandest hotels and private residences we have never seen anything like this. Something like this movie theatre most likely will not exist anywhere else in theworld.’ Watch a Madonna or U2 concert and you will feel as though you are there and part of it. View ‘Avatar’ in 3D while lying on one of the roman lounges or betransported by the movie ‘Amadeus’. The atmosphere and ambience will put you in a different state of mind. Use the cinema for a sensual party where the screenis utilised for the computer generated visualization of the music which has been chosen from the ENIGMA MANSION music playlists and you will be carried away toa fantastic reality. Words and photographs cannot adequately describe the ambience of this cinema – it must be felt and experienced. These photographs do not dojustice to the seductive atmosphere of this room. Arches from a Moroccan palace frame the walls of the entire cinema. Behind these arches the walls are covered withmotifs of movie stars and scenes of French cabarets painted by artist Michael J Fitzgerald. Unique wall lamps with beautiful shades emit the sensual dark light you mayfind in an exclusive cabaret in Paris. Antique and modern, eclectic but most of all cosy couches, lounges and roman daybeds in deep red and green are positionedrandomly on the thick red carpet. Every couch is the perfect place to view a 3D movie. The 3D projector is released from the ceiling at the push of a button on the iPadand the deep metallic blue Cinema curtains from Gaggio, Italy, open automatically, while the curtain at the entry to the cinema closes automatically once the moviebegins. The high-end speakers, sub-woofers and surround system are a given, but what really differentiates the experience is the atmosphere in the room.104
