ROBINSON’S <strong>BOOKSHOP</strong> <strong>JOB</strong> <strong>DESCRIPTION</strong>AUGUST 2012POSITION TITLE: DATA ENTRY CLERKPOSITION OBJECTIVE: Fast and efficient batch processing of dataincluding, but not limited to: financial data such as: invoices, credit notes,receipts, stock orders, new releases (frontlisting) – primarily using excel &MYOBPOSITION <strong>DESCRIPTION</strong>: The role assumes a number of important dutiesincluding:• Enter data using the appropriate software• Neat and tidy filing for paperwork• Check for accuracy and consistency• Follow directions of the owners/office supervisor in relation to priorities• Implement initiatives designed to improve workflow and minimise timeconsuming manual operational practices• Ensure consistently high levels of accuracy and speed is achievedPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The role assumes a number of keyresponsibilities, including:• Assuming responsibility for keeping an eye on day to day proceduresand practices which add labour or cost and report these to the ownerswith suggestions for improvement• Report potential hazards to ensure safety of team members andcustomers alike• Follow directions of the store owner, or office manager in that order ofhierarchyREPORTING LINE: Role reports to the owners/office managerPERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: It is expected that the data entry clerkwill undertake tasks and responsibilities with a positive attitude and maintainloyalty to Robinson’s management, including appropriate release of sensitiveinformation and display a duty of care to staff and suppliers. Professional andethical conduct is naturally expected without compromise. Our culture is verymuch team based rather than hierarchical. Consequently, mutual respect andcollaborative efforts are expected at all times.LOCATION: Robinson’s <strong>Bookshop</strong> Head Office - FrankstonHOURS: <strong>Robinsons</strong> Head Office operates normal business hours Mon-Fri.REMUNERATION: federal award, including overtime, penalty rates andsuperannuation


PERFORMANCE REVIEWS: Formal performance reviews are held at 12monthly intervals and these will be based on an assessment of yourperformance against criteria specified in the job description.CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENT: Robinson’s is looking to the future. The aimis to become the best independent bookstore (or stores) in Australia and towork efficiently and effectively in a happy, caring environment.
