Glossaries, key terms, concepts, abbreviations and acronyms: studying anew subject typically involves learning its specialized vocabulary and oftena whole new range of acronyms. Specialized terms are an indispensable formof shorthand for key concepts, and how they are applied to the issues andquestions with which the discipline is concerned. Lists of key terms and concepts,and acronyms and abbreviations are provided, where relevant, in thetext of each module. It is also a good idea for you to build up your own glossaryas you work through the units in order to develop and reinforce yourunderstanding.9. Questions: throughout the modules you are asked questions, which we call“Review Questions”. Some of these have answers included at the end of themodule. Along with the discussions, it is not compulsory that you answerthem all. However, depending upon your preference you may like to attemptthem on your own, discuss and work them through with fellow professionalswithin your work or country location.10. Using the Internet: the modules also make reference to websites, which offera very rich source of further information. If you have access to the Internetthis can be a powerful learning tool, to accompany you on this course. Thelinks and references to websites provided are just a sample of some of thebetter websites found at the time of writing the module. You do not have tovisit these websites, and indeed it cannot be guaranteed that the links willstill work or that the third party resources referred to will be found on theInternet for any specific time period. If you want to download materials fromthe Internet, and build up your own electronic library based on the referencesin this course, you are strongly advised to do this as soon as possible,as this will give you a better chance of accessing materials before theyare moved or disappear.
