CFDP is a file transfer protocol,but it also has the capability to route files through a space data system. This configuration issuited to space missions in which most data are transferred as files.Figure 4-10 shows an example of protocol configuration on a space link, and figure 4-11shows an example of protocol configuration in an end-to-end space data system.In this example, it is assumed that protocol data units of CFDP are carried by the SpacePacket Protocol over the space link, but they can also be carried by SCPS-NP, IP Version 4,or IP Version 6.
