We made all loan repayments on time since <strong>the</strong> loan wasdrawn down until last month with <strong>the</strong> exception of onepayment which was made seven days late in June 2007.7. The reason for <strong>the</strong> only late repayment last year wasthat we were on vacation and forgot <strong>to</strong> arrange forsufficient funds <strong>to</strong> meet <strong>the</strong> repayment <strong>to</strong> be placed inour savings account in time for <strong>the</strong> direct debit of <strong>the</strong>account for <strong>the</strong> loan repayment. As soon as we hadnoticed our error we rang <strong>the</strong> respondent’s office andecplained our mistake <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> opera<strong>to</strong>r.8. Last month we were unable <strong>to</strong> pay <strong>the</strong> full payment. Weare now in arrears $700 which is $200 from last monthand $500 this month.9. The reason we cannot pay our loan right now is thatwe are experiencing temporary financial hardship. Ihave had an overtime ban at my workplace and my wifeJeanine Ferris recently reduced her hours of work <strong>to</strong>care for her sick mo<strong>the</strong>r.10. I am a permanent part-time builder’s labourer employedby Ross and Co Builders, Samsonvale. Overtime usuallyaccounts for an extra $400 per fortnight in my income.I expect <strong>to</strong> resume working overtime in <strong>the</strong> first weekof July 2008 after <strong>the</strong> overtime ban is lifted on 1 July2008.Sample11. Jeanine Ferris is employed as a teacher’s aide at MtJackson primary school for 30 hours per week on aregular but casual basis. Over <strong>the</strong> last two months,Jeanine has reduced her hours <strong>to</strong> 10 hours per week<strong>to</strong> care for her mo<strong>the</strong>r. Her mo<strong>the</strong>r died on 15 May2008. Jeanine has now resumed her usual hours ofemployment.12.
