Teen Adventure <strong>Camp</strong> – Sessions 4<br />
OVERVIEW<br />
The Lowe’s Teen Adventure <strong>Camp</strong> is a camp that will take teens on daily trips each one focusing on an<br />
outdoor adventure <strong>of</strong> some kind. The trips will be a combination <strong>of</strong> both land and water activities. The<br />
teens will be challenged in some ways to exert more energy while having fun, team building and<br />
developing relationships.<br />
The Teen Adventure <strong>Camp</strong> will:<br />
- Help build strong leadership skills<br />
- Encourage teens to step out <strong>of</strong> the box and try new things<br />
- Help build confidence<br />
STAFF<br />
The Teen Adventure staff will consist <strong>of</strong> our <strong>Summer</strong> <strong>Camp</strong> staff who are devoted to and trained in each<br />
area <strong>of</strong> becoming successful, well-rounded leaders. All staff members are CPR/First Aid<br />
certified employees.<br />

OVERVIEW<br />
The Lowe’s Y Challenge program is a great way for teens to get physical in daily challenges. Teens will<br />
compete in daily challenges that will test their mental and physical toughness. Can your teen bring<br />
home the crown for his team? This camp is for youth in grades 6 th – 10 th .<br />
The Y Challenge Course will:<br />
- Allow for friendly competition between teens from other North-Y Community branches<br />
- Give teens the chance to travel to various <strong>YMCA</strong>s in our area<br />
- Encourage teens to step out <strong>of</strong> the box and to try new things<br />
- Build friendships<br />

OVERVIEW<br />
The Lowe’s <strong>YMCA</strong> Volunteer <strong>Camp</strong> is a great way for youth to learn more about non-pr<strong>of</strong>it<br />
agencies in and around our community that rely heavily on volunteers for their organization.<br />
Teens will spend each day volunteering at a local agency and will return to discuss their<br />
contributions and what more they can do to encourage the success <strong>of</strong> these programs. This<br />
course is for youths in grades 6 th – 10 th<br />
The Volunteer <strong>Camp</strong> program will:<br />
- Introduce youth to local volunteer agencies<br />
- Encourage youth to give back some <strong>of</strong> their time<br />
- Open lines <strong>of</strong> communication between local and city leaders<br />
- Build friendships<br />

OVERVIEW<br />
The Lowe’s <strong>YMCA</strong> Sports <strong>Camp</strong> is planned to introduce teens to a different level <strong>of</strong> sports training. The<br />
teens will work hard at the sport assigned for that day. They will participate in drill development, speed<br />
and agility drills and skill enhancement.<br />
The Teen Sports Program will:<br />

- Create learning lessons in a classroom setting<br />
- Allow youth to exercise in a fun, healthy atmosphere<br />

OVERVIEW<br />
Guard Start is a program designed to guide youth (ages 13 - 15) to lifeguards programs by building a<br />
foundation <strong>of</strong> knowledge, attitudes and skills for future lifeguards. Please note: THE GUARD START<br />
PROGRAM DOES NOT GIVE PARTICIPANTS THE INFORMATION AND SKILLS THEY NEED TO BE<br />
CERTIFIED AS A LIFEGUARD.<br />
The foundation consists <strong>of</strong> five categories:<br />

Soccer <strong>Camp</strong> – Sessions: 2, 7 and 11<br />
OVERVIEW<br />
Soccer camps focus on the fundamentals <strong>of</strong> dribbling, passing, shooting and defending. Each day will<br />
include a new skill. Skills training, scrimmages and games will reinforce those skills. As many games as<br />
possible are introduced in order to keep campers intrigued and wanting more. Staff and campers will<br />
also discuss soccer around the world: Where is the next World Series? What teams play outside <strong>of</strong> the<br />
U.S.? Soccer camp is the perfect option for kids who want to enjoy both traditional day camp and<br />
soccer.<br />

OVERVIEW<br />
Flag Football <strong>Camp</strong> highlights the basics <strong>of</strong> the game <strong>of</strong> football in a fun, informative way. All <strong>of</strong> the<br />
major aspects <strong>of</strong> the game will be highlighted, except for contact. <strong>Camp</strong>ers will learn passing, receiving,
unning and rules <strong>of</strong> the game. Staff and campers will also discuss college and pro football across the<br />
country. The camp incorporates all <strong>of</strong> this with the fun, traditional day camp activities <strong>of</strong> the pool and<br />
the lake. Players will acquire three to four hours <strong>of</strong> flag football depending on afternoon pick-up times.<br />

chance to even perform.<br />

OVERVIEW<br />
Swim camp is designed to give campers a taste <strong>of</strong> what swim team is like. Swim camp will<br />
be a combination <strong>of</strong> both water and dry land practices and experiences. The camp will help<br />
them to develop strokes, enhance skills and understand more about aquatics.<br />
