Norwest Adventures Limited was
established in 1987 by Geoff Schurr, Ray
Moroney & Stu Berendt cavers who
developed the company after many
years as leading educationalists and
cave explorers.
Geoff, Ray & Stu have extensive
knowledge, understanding and passion
for the Caves & Karst in the West Coast
Region. All continue an active
involvement in guiding and Cave & Karst
education. Along with their guides, they
continue to discover, explore and
document discoveries of these very
special subterranean systems.
It was upon this experience that Norwest
Adventures Ltd was created to offer
three distinct caving experiences:
• The internationally acclaimed Underworld
Rafting in which visitors explore formations &
form in the upper levels of the Nile River Caves
prior to floating through incredible Glow Worm
lit grottos and a fun return on the bouncy Nile
River.
• The more passive Charleston GlowWorm Cave
Tour, is an eco tour through the enormous Nile
River Caves. Visitors in their normal warm
clothing, experience a superb cave with
spectacular formation & GlowWorm displays.
• Adventure Caving is an adventure that is as
close as possible to full-on expedition style
caving.
The Underworld Rafting & Charleston Glow
Worm Tours were enhanced in December 2002,
by the commissioning of The Charleston Nile
River Rainforest Train. For those who wish to
experience the wonderful West Coast
wilderness this is a superb eco tour in its own
right.
The aim of Geoff, Ray & Stu and their guides is
to treat every day as a new adventure in this
wonderous pristine environment; one in which
they choose to live, share and enjoy with their
visitors.
A Te Tahi Cave
adventure is a

Take the Rainforest Train through primeval
rainforest to the enormous Nile River GlowWorm
Caves. View an ancient wonderland of stalactites, stalagmites
and galaxies of glow worms.
This is one of the few caves in the world that you can walk
through and experience in its natural unspoilt state, the way a
cave explorer does.
The GlowWorm
Cave Tour is an ecocave
tour in a simply
stunning
environment.
Suitable for all who
are able to walk
unassisted on
uneven surfaces.
Trips depart from our Base in the Charleston Hotel at 9.00am,
11.30pm & 2.00pm (see reverse for winter hours).
Allow 3.5 hours at $105 per person or $330 per family (2A+2C).
Wear warm clothing & sturdy footwear. Camera
essential. Price includes a complimentary drink.
BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL
A short interpretive train ride in open carriages through
the primeval rain forests of the magnificent Nile River
Canyon. Pass through “The Lost World” film site. Take a short
walk to the Nile River Suspension Bridge or if time, to the
Triclops entrance of the Nile River GlowWorm Caves.
Trips depart daily and are
suitable for people of all ages
and abilities. Allow 1.5 hours at
$20 per person (Children and
the aged, $15 per person).
