Dorothy Hazel, University of Nebraskabusiness education staff member firstFBLA-PBL State Adviser." Dr. Gordon Culver, University of Nebraska,served as FBLA-PBL State Chairman." FBLA-PBL operated as one organization." State officers were PBL members with oneFBLA member serving as a vice president." First State Leadership Conference held inLincoln at the University of Nebraska.! 1963-1967 – Dr. Margaret Johnson served asFBLA-PBL State adviser.! 1963 – Ann Bartholomew Masters elected asfirst FBLA-PBL State President at the stateconference in Lincoln." 60 members from 8 chapters attended thetwo-day conference.! 1966 – Nebraska FBLA grew to 7 FBLAchapters and 585 members." State dues were $1.! 1983 – First FBLA Handbook written.! 1984 – Gary Sadlemyer announed theSLC Awards Program.! 1986 – PDC hired to produce the generalsessions.! 1986 – 31 competitive events were offered atthe SLC.! 1989 – Computers are added to thecompetitive events program." August 1997 – 1996-97 State President JillEisenhauer killed by a drunk driver." Chapters rallied to make a difference inJill’s honor and fundraising began during1997-98 for Nebraska Mothers AgainstDrunk Driving (MADD)."
