INTRODUCTIONInternational IDEA produces and disseminates a number ofpublications and other knowledge resources each year. Theseinclude handbooks, policy papers, regional and countryreports, as well as databases and other online resources.Published under International IDEA’s name, or in partnershipwith others, these resources aim to support those involved indemocracy-building processes around the world.A full list of all International IDEA’s publications and otherknowledge resources is available on the Institute’s websiteand can be downloaded free of charge. Most publications arealso available in printed copies and can be ordered online.To facilitate increased access to its publications, InternationalIDEA adopted a Creative Commons (CC) licence in 2007for selected titles. In those cases where International IDEApublications are available under the CC licence, users are freeto share, copy and distribute publications according to theconditions set out in the licence (www.idea.int/publications/how_to_use_ccl_titles.cfm).The International IDEA 2012 Publications CatalogueThis catalogue aims to highlight new releases in 2011together with main titles produced by the Institute over thepast several years. It also includes a list of databases andother knowledge resources available on the InternationalIDEA website. A CD-ROM with PDF files of all thepublications mentioned in the catalogue can be found insidethe back cover of the catalogue.For easy reference, a full list of the titles included in thiscatalogue is provided in the Index.
