It was founded in 1937., and since then it has been performingsuccessfully both abroad and all over the country. The ensemblehas won many competitions, and the latest prize in the succession of manywas Laureate of the Serbian <strong>Choir</strong> Competition.Since 1998, the head of the choir has been Professor Tijana Kovačević.She graduated in conducting in Belgrade, and specialized at the PragueMusic Academy. All choir members are female and there are 36 of themsinging in three parts. The orchestra consists of the following instruments: twoaccordions, two guitars, a violin, a fl ute, a piano and percussions. Members ofthe ensemble are mostly the students of “Stevan Mokranjac” music school fromPozarevac and it is run by the teachers of the same school. The ensemble performsmusic from Serbia, Macedonia, Russia and other countries in its originalarrangement. It performed all over Serbia and abroad (Slovenia, Republic ofSrpska, etc).The ensemble has also been taking part in many cultural activitiesin Pozarevac.In 2007 in Valjevo, it won the award for artistic improvement at the music festivalwhich is held there every year. As for the repertoire, it stays loyal to traditionalmusic.
