Thank you.Philosophy Club:- Children have been discussingthe question “What are pets?” Representatives fromthe infants and juniors will be joining the PhilosophyClub on Monday lunchtime to explore their ideasfurther.Rugby tournament:- We wish our tag rugby squadwell on Tuesday in the next round of the school’stournament in Taunton.Swimming Galas:- These take place at HorfieldLeisure Centre, and parents are welcome to comeand watch, from 10:00 to 11:30. The Year 3 and 4gala is next Friday 26 th June, and Year 5 and 6 onFriday 3 rd June. (Note – no swimming for Year 6next Friday)Shuffle Up Day:- On Monday 29 th June, all childrenwill spend time in their new classes working withtheir new teachers. A list of classes will be publishedin next week’s newsletter. Year 6 will spend theafternoon in the Infant <strong>School</strong>. Year 2 pupils will joinus for the day, and Year 3 pupils will be taken overafter registration to spend the morning in the infantschool.HENSA Summer BBQ:- Friday 3 rd July. Helpneeded. We need volunteers to help for half hourslots on the BBQ, bar and stalls between 5.30pmand 8pm. Please contact Sue Rees if you can helpon 9422048 or sue@catcharainbow.com . Thanks.Open Evening:- On Thursday July 2 nd , we welcomefamilies to come and look around the school, visitclassrooms, see work on display and find out wherechildren’s classes for next year will be. There will bea meeting for parents of children entering Year 3 inthe Hall at 6:00. Note: since we had a Celebrationevening in February this year, this will be a morecasual, low-key affair!Year 3 Allotment Sale!:- Year 3 are very excited tobe selling the produce grown to date (mainly lettuceand other salad leaves) on Tuesday 23 June at3.15pm on the top playground. Lettuces will bepriced at approximately 50p. All proceeds will beused to buy new seeds for the next growing seasonin the allotment.CONGRATULATIONS to Tom Northam of Class 1who sold the winning ticket in the Balloon Race at theMayfair. Tickets were returned from Gloucester,Warwickshire, Birmingham, Derby, Doncaster,Chesterfield, and the furthest 291 miles away inNorthumberland. A map and list of returned tickets areon display in the Infant school foyer.Mayfair:- The Mayfair Committee handed over acheque to HENSA this week for an amazing £4500. Inspite of the weather, the turnout was good and thetakings were as good as last year. Huge thanks go toall of the helpers and especially the dedicatedcommittee members.Bicycle:- Remember our next Bike Breakfast on 8 thJuly. Keep cycling to school to help us get round theworld in the Virtual Bike Race. I hope to see many ofyou at the Biggest Bike Ride on Sunday.
