Executive Summary<br />
Scope and Approach<br />
The purpose <strong>of</strong> this report is to outline how the Eglinton Local Structure Plan (LSP) will address and<br />
implement sustainability initiatives relevant and considered important to the residential estate.<br />
The Eglinton Local Structure Plan area is approximately 633ha <strong>of</strong> which around 198ha is owned by<br />
Oceanscapes Alliance, a partnership between Eglinton Estates and Stockland; the balance area is<br />
owned by Eglinton Estates.<br />
Eglinton will be developed for residential and commercial purposes including the Eglinton District Centre,<br />
Urban Development, including primary schools and playing fields, the Eglinton Marina and Coastal<br />
Village, Regional Open Space and Public Open Space as indicated in the Local Structure Plan.<br />
This document follows the sustainability elements set out in the DSP demonstrates how the objectives<br />
and strategies detailed in the DSP have been further developed, guided and informed the LSP design,<br />
and will be progressed following approval <strong>of</strong> the LSP.<br />
The document is structured in accordance with the DSP report, and outlines objectives and strategies<br />
under the elements <strong>of</strong> Community, Water, Energy and Greenhouse Gases and Ecosystem Health.<br />
Sustainability objectives and strategies developed for the LSP, together with actions required to progress<br />
the strategies post LSP are set out in the tables below.<br />
