Report LimitationsThe following limitations should be noted:nnnThe Summary Report Based on 53 Country Surveys attempts to summarize key findings from the individualcountry reports produced during this project. As such, it is not an attempt to synthesize all that isknown about ICT use in education in Africa, and should be seen as a guide to key findings and assertionsthat emerged during the country survey processes. The data presented in the individual Country Reports should be regarded as illustrative rather thanexhaustive. This survey was not an exercise in primary data collection. The guidelines given to countryresearchers regarding report length were deliberate in order to ensure a focus on the more salientinformation and to enable the completion of the project within the established time frame and theavailable resources.ICT use in education is at a particularly dynamic stage in Africa, which means that there are newdevelopments and announcements happening on a daily basis somewhere on the continent. Therefore, these reports need to be seen as “snapshots” that were current at the time they were taken; it is expectedthat certain facts and figures presented in the Country Reports may become dated very quickly.www.infodev.org Report Limitations vii
