The <strong>State</strong> <strong>Water</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> and associated rules provide that eachRegional <strong>Water</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> will be subject to review by the appropriate Regional <strong>Water</strong><strong>Plan</strong>ning Council every five years and in accordance with this guidance provided bythe Director, unless otherwise required by the Director for earlier review. Thesereviews and updates will allow an opportunity to adapt the Regional <strong>Water</strong> <strong>Plan</strong>based on changed circumstances and new information arising in the five years afterEPD’s adoption of these plans. These benchmarks will guide EPD in the review ofthe Regional <strong>Water</strong> <strong>Plan</strong>.8.3 <strong>Plan</strong> Extension RequestThe <strong>Middle</strong> <strong>Chattahoochee</strong> <strong>Water</strong> Council requested an extension in the timeallocated for completion of this plan from the Georgia EPD and Georgia <strong>State</strong>legislators to allow for the proper completion of this planning document. While thecompletion schedule was extended by approximately three months, there was muchinformation that was still not available for the completion of this plan, including theMaster <strong>Water</strong> Control Manual update by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.MIDDLE CHATTAHOOCHEE8.4 <strong>Plan</strong> AmendmentsThe <strong>Middle</strong> <strong>Chattahoochee</strong> Council requests that amendments to this plan prior tothe five-year update schedule as required by the <strong>State</strong>-wide <strong>Water</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> be expresslypermitted. <strong>Plan</strong> amendments would need to be considered and approved by the<strong>Middle</strong> <strong>Chattahoochee</strong> Council in a similar manner as the development of this <strong>Water</strong>Development and Conservation <strong>Plan</strong>.
