Feel at homeEach of our bed-sitting rooms is fully furnishedand has an en-suite bathroom with walk in shower.The home and the Nursing Wing have a good rangeof bathrooms with assisted baths and showers tofacilitate bathing for the frail or disabled. Residentsare encouraged to personalise their rooms withsmall items of furniture, pictures and photographs,to make them feel at home. Every room is fittedwith a television point and telephone socket, givingadditional privacy and choice.Fresh food choicesAll food is freshly prepared by our cooks, andresidents can choose from our varied menus fortheir main meal at lunchtime, plus a hot supperin the evening. Light snacks are always availableand the homemade cakes are justly popular.All meals are served in the elegant dining roomor, if the resident prefers, in their own room.We have pantries located throughout WoodcoteGrove House so that residents can prepare theirown light snacks and breakfasts as they wish.Individual care plansWhenever a new resident joins us, we prepare anindividual care plan with them and their relatives,to encourage independence and inclusion. The plancovers personal care, diet, activities and hobbies,and all aspects of how we can make their stayenjoyable and comfortable.Activities and interestsWoodcote Grove House features two elegantlyfurnished drawing rooms and Selkirk also has its ownlounge. Our Activities Organiser also encouragesresidents to become involved in the many socialactivities on offer; exercise classes, competitions,quizzes and crafts. We have a beauty room wherelocal hairdressers, manicurists and chiropodists visitregularly. Residents are welcome to take an interestin the garden or help with flowers for the house.Weekly church services are conducted by localclergy in the chapel and communion is also offeredin residents’ own rooms. Our local volunteersupport group organises many events includingsherry parties, social gatherings and visits to placesof interest which all help establish roots in the localcommunity. They also run a mobile shop and visitresidents on a regular basis.
