<strong>For</strong> <strong>immediate</strong> <strong>release</strong><strong>Press</strong> <strong>Release</strong><strong>Launching</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>program</strong> <strong>of</strong> activities celebrating <strong>the</strong> 50 th anniversary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Town <strong>of</strong>Pincourt – 50 years toge<strong>the</strong>r!Pincourt, March 23, 2010 – It is with great enthusiasm that <strong>the</strong> mayor <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Town <strong>of</strong> Pincourt,Mr. Yvan Cardinal, highlights <strong>the</strong> presence <strong>of</strong> dignitaries and media for <strong>the</strong> launch <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><strong>program</strong> <strong>of</strong> activities for <strong>the</strong> 50 th anniversary celebration <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> city <strong>of</strong> Pincourt.Mr. Cardinal recognizes <strong>the</strong> extraordinary efforts and time commitment invested by all <strong>the</strong>committee members since last summer. The committee has created an entirely free, familyoriented <strong>program</strong> <strong>of</strong> events for Pincourt citizens. This <strong>program</strong> includes a diverse range <strong>of</strong>activities including historical, artistic, physical and cultural content.In addition, Mr. Cardinal noted <strong>the</strong> importance <strong>of</strong> involving everyone in <strong>the</strong> success <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>secelebrations and <strong>the</strong> opportunity to invite people to volunteer by calling 514-453-2040, ext. 30and to leave <strong>the</strong>ir names and phone numbers. He subsequently turned <strong>the</strong> floor over toMr. Antonio Pellegrino, representative <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Committee <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 50 th Anniversary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> city <strong>of</strong>Pincourt.It is with pride that Mr. Pellegrino has unveiled <strong>the</strong> line-up <strong>of</strong> activities for <strong>the</strong> 50 th anniversarycelebrations <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> city <strong>of</strong> Pincourt.April 13-16, 2010 – Open house days for <strong>the</strong> 5th and 6th graders in order for <strong>the</strong>m to beintroduced to our democratic life and enjoy guided tours <strong>of</strong> our municipal facilities.May 1 st , 2010 – 10:00 am to 4:00 pm – Chêne Bleu High School – Local artists will exhibit<strong>the</strong>ir creations in <strong>the</strong> morning followed by music, dance and <strong>the</strong>atre presentations by <strong>the</strong> highschool students in <strong>the</strong> afternoon.Conferences – Omni-Centre – Lise Chartier, from <strong>the</strong> “Société d’histoire et de généalogie del’Île-Perrot”, will fascinate you with heritage discoveries.• May 19, 2010 – 7:30 pm: Pincourt in <strong>the</strong> XIX Century• October 6, 2010, 7:30 pm – Pincourt in <strong>the</strong> XX CenturySpring-Summer 2010 – Olympic Park – Floral garden – The “Société d’horticultureenvironnementale des villes de l’Île-Perrot” will share <strong>the</strong>ir knowledge & creativity with Pincourtcitizens in creating a beautiful natural garden which will embellish <strong>the</strong> entryway to <strong>the</strong> Omni-Centre.


June 5, 2010 – Parade and Multi-Cultural Day – 10:30 am to 4:00 pm – Cardinal-LégerBlvd. / Olympic Park – The parade begins at 10:30 am from <strong>the</strong> Joseph-Laflèche Blvd. andends at Olympic Park where a number <strong>of</strong> cultural and historical animations will be presented aswell as songs and dances from numerous ethnic communities and <strong>the</strong> First Nations.August 14, 2010 – Firemen’s Day – Parade starts at <strong>the</strong> Omni-Centre at 12:15 pm and ends atBellevue Park at 1:30 pm - The Pincourt Volunteer Firemen’s Association invites you to this veryspecial edition <strong>of</strong> this classic municipal event. Featuring : Arthur L’Aventurier, Andrée Watters,Sylvain Cossette. Of course, <strong>the</strong>ir famous fireworks display will once again amaze you!August 21, 2010 – Boating Day – Bellevue Park from 10:00am to 4:00 pm – Come anddiscover your newly redesigned park by taking part in <strong>the</strong> free use <strong>of</strong> canoes, kayaks andrabaskas in Bellevue Bay. Appropriate safety measures will be in place.September 12, 2010 – Family Bicycle Outing (11km) – Olympic Park, 10:00 am – A return <strong>of</strong>this classic event in Pincourt, this time, on a local circuit filled with new discoveries! Registrationforms will be available in different locations to be announced.September 22, 2010 – Reunion Evening at <strong>the</strong> Library – 5:00 pm – This cocktail event willhighlight <strong>the</strong> evolution <strong>of</strong> our Library as well as <strong>the</strong> contributions from <strong>the</strong> key players <strong>of</strong> itsdevelopment.Fall 2010 – Celebrations Closing <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 50 th anniversary – A recap <strong>of</strong> this past year events byMayor Cardinal.Mr. Cardinal took <strong>the</strong> floor again to thank all partners and volunteers for making possible thismarvellous <strong>program</strong>.Check out <strong>the</strong> local papers and <strong>the</strong> Town Web Site (www.villepincourt.qc.ca) for more detailsconcerning <strong>the</strong>se activities.
