ThinkFirst for Y<strong>our</strong> Baby: Teaches parents who qualify for the<br />
program how to reduce unintentional injuries in infants through<br />
prenatal education and postnatal follow-up. (Presented in<br />
English and in Spanish.)<br />
Cribs for Kids: Educational program dedicated to prevention of<br />
sudden infant death syndrome. Specifically for at-risk parents<br />
who qualify to receive a CPSC-approved crib at reasonable cost.<br />
ThinkFirst for Kids: In-school program that teaches kids (Grades<br />
K-3) to be safe, prevent injury and still enjoy life on bicycles,<br />
buses, in sports and other activities.<br />
ThinkFirst for Big Kids: In-school program that uses an interactive<br />
game format to teach kids (Grades 4-6) bicycle, motor<br />
vehicle and water safety and fire/burn prevention.<br />
ThinkFirst for Youth: In-school program for students (Grades<br />
4-8) on the importance of protecting themselves when faced<br />
with a challenging decision. Includes understanding the body’s<br />
physical abilities, conflict resolution, peer pressure and confidence<br />
building.<br />
ThinkFirst for Teens: Assembly-based program (Grades 7-12)<br />
on decision-making skills and the consequences of risk-taking.<br />
Includes award-winning film and presentation by a health care<br />
speaker and a young individual who has sustained a brain or<br />
spinal cord injury.<br />
ThinkFirst Teen Driving Program: Classroom and assembly<br />
program for Grades 10-12 including speaker and video: Three<br />
Drivers; Eighteen Lives.<br />
<strong>Tri<strong>Health</strong></strong> Senior Driving Academy: For drivers 55 and older. This<br />
program is a collaboration with <strong>Tri<strong>Health</strong></strong> Seniority.<br />
Safety Rocks Preschool program: This program is geared toward<br />
child-care facilities in the Greater Cincinnati and Kiwanis<br />
catchment areas. Preschool-aged children learn about safety in<br />
a fun and interactive format designed for their developmental<br />
level. Funding provided by Duke Energy and Southwest Ohio<br />
Kiwanis for kids.<br />
ThinkFirst Violence Prevention Initiative: This is a violence<br />
prevention and conflict resolution education program that takes<br />
place over f<strong>our</strong> sessions and includes: incentives for parental involvement,<br />
rewards for student participation, asset development<br />
education, conflict resolution/weapon safety education/problem<br />
solving, interaction with an individual who has sustained a<br />
weapon-related traumatic injury, integration of health concepts<br />
related to violent injury prevention and incorporation of local<br />
after-school res<strong>our</strong>ces.<br />
Helmets are Cool Cincinnati: This program was started more<br />
than ten years ago by <strong>Tri<strong>Health</strong></strong> ThinkFirst. In a partnership with<br />
Greater Cincinnati SAFE KIDS Coalition, helmets are provided to<br />
lower-income children at a reduced cost through the hospital<br />
gift shops and local pediatrician offices.<br />

Trauma Services<br />
Provides swift, excellent medical services for all injured people,<br />
regardless of ability to pay. Led by a multidisciplinary staff who<br />
are leaders in emergency treatment, prevention and education.<br />

Ohio’s first certified, medically based fitness facility, the Pavilion<br />
provides a variety of activities and services for all ages and fitness<br />
levels. Degreed, certified staff guide members in workouts<br />
on the fitness floor, through group exercise and acquatics<br />
classes, and with personal training. Amenities include indoor<br />
and outdoor tracks and pools, and a full-size gym. Also housed<br />
at the Pavilion are services open to the community, such as Tri-<br />
<strong>Health</strong> Integrative <strong>Health</strong> & Medicine, the Pavilion Spa, cardiac<br />
rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation, dietician services and<br />
physicial therapy. A Kid’s Life Center, health promotion classes,<br />
a Pro Shop and conference room for rent are other popular<br />

<strong>Tri<strong>Health</strong></strong> offers integrated and personalized care with a team<br />
of more than 30 board-certified and board-eligible hospitalists<br />
who practice at Bethesda North and Good Samaritan hospitals.<br />
A hospitalist is a physician who follows each patient’s treatment<br />
from the time they are admitted to the hospital until they are<br />
released.<br />
