After the introductory surveys, different themesfrom the fields of psychology, sociology, philosophy andbon-ton were elaborated.Mr Nino Ćorić, MA, was a guest-lecturer at the Academy,as well as the representatives of the Turkish Eufor lot-housefrom Široki Brijeg, and Mr Gavrilo Grahovac, minister ofculture and sports in the Federation of BiH. The guestswere presented with the details about the way of work inAcademy and its mission.Regular meetings with the attendants’ parentswere held at the Academy as well as contact with theheadmasters of the elementary schools in order tocreate the best conditions for trainings in these schools.A systematic work has been organized when it comesto the monitoring of our attendants’ achievements inlearning and behaviour at the high-schools in which theyare regular pupils.Prof. Ivan MatićREGIONAL AND NATIONAL HISTORYThe classes were held once a week, in two age-groups:1992/93 and 1994/95. Throughout the year, the attendantsof the age-group 94/95 were present to a greater extent. The generation of 92/93 was sometimes absent - justified- from the classes because of the matches of the first teamof Izviđač which were played outside of Ljubuški.In the last month of classes, the attendants of theHandball Academy “Izviđač” - both of the mentionedage groups, were given a shortened version of thehistory lectures held in the academic year of 2008/09. Thesecretary of the Club printed the materials, copied themand later the materials were incorporated in the finalhistory test.Prof. Drago GrgićENGLISH LANGUAGEIn the academic year 2008/09 three age-groupswere encompassed by regular English classes: 1992/93,1994/95 and 1996/97. Altogether, there were 110 lecturesin English as a foreign language. The teaching materialswere presented with the use of the modern technologylike notebooks, LCD projectors as well as copied magazinearticles, newspapers and books. The educational programfor the academic year of 2008/09 was realized completely, with the exception of the age-group 1992/93 who weremore regularly absent from lectures, which is justified tosome extent because they had their duties in the first teamand their matches. The educational plan and programconsisted of more components, the most important ofwhich are: repetition and revising subject matter fromtheir schools, widening of the professional vocabularyand grammatical structures.Prof. Zdenko VišticaACTIVITIES IN THE ACADEMYJANUARY-JUNE 2009The working group had 42 regular meetings withinthe plan and program of the Handball Academy “Izviđač”in the previous year. Twenty-three were held in the periodJanuary-June 2009. The reason for these regular meetingsis the continued monitoring of all happenings within theAcademy: trainings, lectures and care for the educationand proper development of children and young handballplayers, sport employees, organization of competitionsand matches in Ljubuški as well as going to tournamentsand matches elsewhere.Apart from many tournaments, our attendants playin the League of Herceg-Bosna and the First FederationLeague – competitions which are actually for seniors, buthowever, they successfully cope with all the opponentsand show enviable results. These pieces of information show stimulation andpromotion of handball and the fact that we have bothquantity and quality among the Academy members. In order to form their complete personalities, theattendants of the age-groups 1992/93, 1994/95 and54
1996/97 have lectures from psychology, sociology, philosophy, history and English twice a week.Since 2006 when the Handball Academy was registeredas a legal subject, four numbers of the magazine“AkademIja” have been published. All that work gives more and more visible results whichare recognized by the parents and the society, so it is achallenge that makes us go further onto a higher level ofquality, so that we could implement the basic principlesof the Handball Academy into out youth who already isrecognizable wherever they arrive.Zdenka Pandžić, secretarySELECTION HC “LJUBUŠKI” 1992/93In the beginning of January 200’ the first trainings forthe continuation of the Federal League Championshipwere started. In the autumnal part of the ChampionshipHC ”Ljubuški“ was positioned sixth and through thepreparatory matches was ready for the spring part of theChampionship. A large number of the injured playersis the reason for the seventh position at the end of theChampionship. This generation confirmed its quality inthe finals of the State Cadet Championship in Cazin, havingwon the first place and the title of the state champion.SELECTION 1994/95The work of the selection was continued in thebeginning of January with regular trainings. The teamcontinued its competition in the League of Herceg-Bosnawhere at the end of the competition it was placed third. This selection won the first position in the finals of theChampionship for young cadets of Herceg-Bosna and gotthe placement into the finals of the State Championship. In the finals of the State Championship in Maglaj, competing with eight teams, it was placed third, with theresult of three victories and one draw, having shown thebest handball game in everybody’s opinion.SELECTION 1996/97As opposed to the autumnal part, the numberof trainings for this selection was increased and thepresence on the training was better. Since this agegroup is not in the competing system, they were giventhe opportunity to play as many matches as possible indifferent tournaments and friendly matches. The selectionplayed on tournaments in Split, Čapljina and the EasterTournament in Ljubuški. They won the first place onthe Pioneer Championship of Herceg-Bosna. More than150 attendants of the Academy were spectators at thematches of the World Championship in Croatia.Zdenko Grbavac, trenerE.S. ‘’TIN UJEVIĆ’’ VitinaThe attendants of the Handball Academy who trainin the elementary school in Vitina have undergone thetraining process consisting mainly of the repetition of thebasic handball elements. When it comes to the tacticalpart, we mostly did the group tactical and technical tasks(twos, threes, fours). Since the elementary school in Vitinahas created around 15 attendants who successfully filledthe selection of 1994 and 1996, the number of players isobviously reduced, particularly having in mind the factthat the number of pupils is smaller than the schools inLjubuški.There were between 30 and 40 attendants atthe trainings, divided into two categories: 1994/95,1996/97/98. The year 1998 and younger won the thirdplace on the Herceg-Bosna Championship. Apart fromthe tournaments in Herceg-Bosna, the attendants of theage group 1994/95 played 17 matches with local teams(Međugorje, Stolac, Vrgorac, Čapljina, Metković), scoring14 victories, one draw and two defeats, which provesthat the training process is successful and continued. Theage group 1996/97/98 played 12 matches and scored 11victories and one draw in Metković.Slaven Tomić, higher coachE.S. ‘’MARKO MARULIĆ’’ LjubuškiThe lack of conditions for trainings in the winter periodhas resulted in the decreased number of players and theirnot being regular at trainings. It particularly affectedthe 1996/97 age group. Younger age groups kept theirstandards in fulfilling their duties to a great extent.Petar Šuvak, coachE.S. ‘’IVANA BRLIĆ MAŽURANIĆ’’ GračineIn this school there are 17 members of the older groupof boys who were born in 1996/97 and the younger groupconsists of 20 attendants who were born in 1998 andyounger. They have trainings four times a week accordingto the program created by the professional team. OnSaturdays they play tournament matches against childrenfrom other schools. After the World Championship inCroatia, the number of boys in the younger age group hasbeen rising rapidly, so another group of boys had to beformed (year 2000 and younger).Dario Mikulić, coachThe Report written by:Zdenka Pandžić, secretary55
