FONTANA NORTH WELCOMES TOMMY BOY RECORDS!Originally conceived and started by Tom Silverman in his cramped New York City apartment inearly 1981, Tommy Boy released the definitive hip-hop 12” single, Planet Rock by AfrikaBambaataa and the Soul Sonic Force. This was the record every DJ coveted and had in theircrates. This was the record that inspired countless MC’s to pick up the mic. This was the recordeveryone rhymed over. This was the break dance anthem. Tommy Boy brought “Planet Rock “and the exciting New World of an urban Bronx street culture to the rest of America and the entireworld. Industry insiders predicted hip-hop music to be a passing trend, a momentary fad, with nocommercial viability, but Tommy Boy silenced critics as “Planet Rock “ quickly went gold, movingover 600,000 units, and being among the only 12” singles to ever do so. It is one of the mostsampled songs in the history of recorded music. Its beat and production style is credited withinspiring and launching new music genres from Freestyle and Miami Bass to West Coast Rapand Dirty South.BOB SINCLAR’S “SOUNDZ OF FREEDOM” ISTHE SOUNDTRACK TO YOUR SUMMER!!!* 1 st single “Sound OfFreedom” video beingserviced May 29!Tommy Boy has consistently produced hits, it took five years after Planet Rock explodedinternationally for Tommy Boy to score their next smash with De La. Those that slept on thelabel got sideswiped by what followed. Just check the statistics: Numerous top-ten hits, seventyseven,we repeat, SEVENTY-SEVEN combined Gold, Platinum, and Multi-Platinum certificationsfrom the Recording Industry Association of America, including gold singles from AfrikaBambaataa, Club Nouveau, De La Soul, and Digital Underground. Albums from InformationSociety, Naughty by Nature, K7, and Everlast all went gold. Singles like The Humpty Danceby Digital Underground, Jump Around by House of Pain, and Fantastic Voyage by Coolio wentplatinum, while Naughty By Nature garnered multi-platinum sales for O.P.P. Both House of Painand De La Soul released platinum albums on Tommy Boy, while Coolio, and Everlast, withWhitey Ford Sings the Blues, went multi-platinum.*Early adds at Z103Halifax, Z103 Toronto,Bounce Edmonton!*Release partiesplanned for Montreal !*#7 with a bullet addedto the Canadian DanceCharts!6 61868 16652 1WESTERN DREAMNOW AT A NEWLOW PRICE!!!*Scans over 27K!* “Rock This Party” &“World Hold On”continue to climb thecharts!* Now at SP pricing!!!!6 61868 16562 3Cat. #: TB16652Price Code: MMIn stores June 26!Cat. #:TB1656Price Code: SPAvailable NOW!On the compilation front, Jock Jams Volumes 1 and 2 went multi-platinum, while Volumes 3 and4, as well as MTV Party To Go Vol.2, received platinum certificates. MTV Party To Go ’98, ’99,Vol. 1 and Volumes 3 through 10, all went gold. But more importantly, over 3 million dollars weredonated to the AMC Cancer Research from the sales of the MTV Party To Go compilationseries.Recently, compilations like the extremely popular NOW series and others like it that advertiseheavily on late night television, are moving millions of units, but Tommy Boy was again here first. We created the model for the successful modern compilation, and the difference is, we makeoriginal music too, not just licensing other people’s work. Just another innovation among a longlist of many that Tommy Boy has pioneered and others have followed. Tommy Boy has had hitsnot only with hip-hop, but also with dance music and other hybrid forms that defy classification.Yes, we are the greatest, and we’ll say it again…Tommy Boy is a label that cannot be labeled, but it is quite frequently imitated.Tom Silverman, founder and CEO of Tommy Boy Music, is Tommy Boy Music, and in January of2002, he issued the Declaration, becoming fully independent again under the slightly moreaccurate moniker of Tommy Boy Entertainment. Even though Tommy Boy remained largelyautonomous, and independent in spirit during its successful tenure with AOL Time Warner, it iscertainly good to be free again. And the future looks bright, as Tommy Boy will continue to dowhat it has always done: pioneering and producing influential music. In 2006, Tommy Boy willbring major label quality with independent ethics and vision with artists like Cantankerous,Daniel Cirera, Roy Young, Bob Sinclar and a long diverse list of other cutting-edge acts.Recently, Tommy Boy Music has become a two-headed monster with the new name of TommyBoy Entertainment. We are going “beyond the music,” as we continue to expand. Look for moreinnovative television programming like Kung Faux, where old Kung Fu matinee classics are redubbedwith the voices of the biggest MC’s. History is a precursor to the future and with TommyBoy Entertainment’s consistent batting average, we’re sure to lead the creative charge of thenew music business. For more information please contact Nathan Wiszniak:nathan.wiszniak@fontananorth.com

Carina Round Slow Motion AddictPRESS QUOTES:“At her best she f**ks up theblues like no midlander sinceLed Zep” – NME“Her tantalizing lines aredelivered with as many vocalgymnastics as Jeff Buckley, but she never soundsmannered…it’s an almostcasual treat from an emergingartist whose promise may wellbe boundless” - GuardianNo one could rightly accuse Carina Round ofplaying it safe. Listen to her first two dark, defiant albums. Hear that voice –that whisperto a wail to a wallop of a voice. Yet chancesare you haven’t had the privilege – and that’sthe point. There’s safety in obscurity, but withSlow Motion Addict, Carina Round is ready totear it up into tiny pieces. “I had the chance tomake a lot of self-indulgent music – I threwmy toys out of my cot for ten years,” Carinaexplains. “Now it’s time to articulate what Iwant to say.”What Carina articulates on Slow MotionAddict will startle and unsettle you – push youto the edge. The insatiable leadoff track“Stolen Car,” is all charged-up percussion andchimey guitar. The track, “How Many Times,”is deceptively catchy puncture pop, a contrastto the atonal, chunky assault and battery of“Take The Money.” Then, soon as you thinkyou’ve got her pegged, Carina takes you toanother plane – with the dreamy, naked,“Downslow,” the weightless music-box ballet of“The City,” the anthemic “big rock” sound of thefirst single “Come To You” and “January Heart,”a contemplative, bittersweet, sneaks up- on-youlove song. “There’s wide variety on this record,”Carina says. “It starts out a bit quirky and light, then moves into something darker, more ‘arty,’which are the two sides of my personality.”KEY SELLING POINTS:Produced by Glen Ballard (Alanis, Dave Matthews Band, Aerosmith)www.carinaround.com features select album trackswww.myspace.com/carinaroundAdvertising in Filter, Fader, Paster, Nylon, and MagnetCarina has previously toured with Coldplay, James Blunt, Snow PatrolMassive online marketing campaignKimmel, Conan, Letterman to be scheduled around July tourCatalogue Number Price Code Label RIYLB000613502 SP Interscope/Universal Bjork, PJ HarveyBar Code Format File Order DueCD Alternative June 23, 2007Box Lot G.C. Hughes in early 1999. Inspired by classic metal bands such asDio, Kiss, Ozzy and Judas Priest, Grand Lux embarked upon their journeyin the realms of Heavy Metal. It didn’t take long for Grand Lux to get wellknown in the local scene, thanks to their excellent musicianship, and ofcourse their impressive live shows, filled with fire, pyro effects andpowerful heavy metal.Late 2004, Grand Lux, released their debut album, “Iron Will” onNorwegian Sand Records. The album got a great response from all overthe world , and the demand for the band to play live increased heavily.Since the beginning, Grand Lux has played the best of metal festivals.Early 2006, Grand Lux started to work on songs for a new album. Theband came in contact with Sweden’s Ulterium Records, and duringsummer 2006 a contract was signed. In November, Grand Lux enteredDub Studios in Krisitiansand and Endre Kirkesola as the engineer. Theresult is a is an album filled with great 80’s Heavy Metal with greatmusicianship. Grand Lux will surely continue their victory crusade aroundthe world in the coming years.Superb second album from this Brazilian progressive metal bandwill certainly be a contender of disc of the year. This near 80minute packed disc is a loose collection of songs with anexistential/zen mindstate slant. The direction of the band is afurther refinement of their debut - an amalgam of Dream Theater,Pain of Salvation and even Marillion - but with enough of it's ownpersonality that it will easily escape the clone tag. The discpackaging is also impressive. It features a full color 24 page book,a 28 page comic book, enclosed in a digipak and slipcase.Highest recommendation. (TAKEN FROM LASERS EDGE)Mindflow. Mindblowing. Mindboggling. Mind-expanding. MindOver Body is truly superb. The liner notes say "This album wasnot made to be heard, was made to be felt by your heart and sangby your soul." Initially, the album is enigmatic and esoteric, butwhen you feel it—brace yourself. Mindflow takes their music to anew level of complexity and experimentation, both vocally andmusically. All the same heaviness and beauty is still present, however. Some passages are reminiscent of Pain Of Salvation, putting Mindflow in exceptional company. This CD makes mebelieve in "Mind Over Body." I feel honored to listen to itFor more information please contactNathan Wiszniak:nathan.wiszniak@fontananorth.com
