It felt exhilarating performing on stage – a sense of musical freedom. It felt like I was floating on air! It was funto enrich the young performers in my music and the experience was both fun and rewarding. My whole familythought the concert was great and enjoyed it.Mitchell Wood 11Acoustic BandMy family thought it was fantastic. They thought it was well organized and the range of performances was great. They said the students and teachers looked like they were enjoying themselves.Orion Varkopoulos-Pridham 7Percussion EnsembleI really enjoyed performing in the concert as it helped me understand how to deal with singing even while beingsick. The experience was a good learning curve and now I know what to do if I have to sing while I‟m sick again! The highlight for me was the cello and piano duo. They were absolutely amazing. They were very in sync andthe tone of the cello was exquisite.Larissa Li 9Acoustic BandHome Made Musical InstrumentsSmiley PipesMy brother had a 60cm long PVC pipe and we cut it into 5 pieces, each 3cm shorter than the other so that wecould make different pitches. We connected the pieces together with double-sided duct tape. I put clay at thebottom to close the hole but it wouldn‟t stay so I closed the holes with duct tape. We spray painted it black. Weinitially spray painted it pink but it turned out purple (which I hate!). We left it to dry. My dog decided to playwith it so there‟s a bit of his hair and my fingerprints on it. On the morning it was due I stuck smiley face stickerson. I enjoyed making my instrument because I got to work with my brother and Dad. It was tons of funbecause it was the first time I made my own instrument. I‟m really glad we had this assignment.Nellie Liyana ArachchigeLipton’s PluckerI used some elastic bands, gluestick and a cardboard box but it squashed so I had to make another one.Faaduma IsmailTangled HornI cut off a piece of hose and I attached the connector that connects the hose to the tap. I then cut a mayonnaisebottle into a funnel shape and taped it to the other end of the hose. Then I wrapped the hose so it wasn‟t3 metres long. To make different pitches I had to buzz my lips. It was fun experimenting with the differentlengths of hose to try and get the right pitches. I didn‟t enjoy trying to find the right item for the funnel. It tookme ages to end up with a mayonnaise bottle and then when I took it to school the funnel broke off.Daniel BeliaFaaduma Ismail Daniel Belia Nellie Liyana Arachchige
