Kecualiplastik yang perlu waktu lama untuk hancur.Semua menjadi normal dan tidak banyak lagi yang mengeluh tentang sampahdi pantai. Mereka yang ribut ribut tentang sampah dan menebar kekuatiran,kemungkinan adalah orang orang yang ingin mencari keuntungan dari sikluscuaca.Bumi kita baik baik saja. manusianya yang banyak salah.Kurangi penggunaan plastik dan daur ulang, adalah solusi untuk sampah. Allof the boys were pushing each other.In the end Yasin won the title of thebest under-16 grom in Sumbawa andthe trip to Bali to compete at thisyear’s GromSearch final held in Kutabeach in October during RIP CURL’SSURF and MUSIC FESTIVAL. BrunoSantos was tripping on the level ofsurfing of the final - in fact trippingso hard that he gave the winninggrom one of his personal boards asan incentive to keep on ripping. ProudYasin later said about his victory: “Iwas totally focused on my waves anddidn’t feel nervous. That’s why I knewthat I could win that heat. This isn’t one ofthe scenes whereyou found a funnylooking duderunning aroundyour neighborhood,it’s just theStoneman tryingto hit the waterand find a nicewave to ride.Some of the event recaps, the kids went wild with the Stoneman presenceon the beach, for some of them who lucky enough to find Volcom teamriders’ photo in the magazine and win cool products from Volcom.“Here comes the sun…here comes the sun”, you’ll be thinking of singing that line from the Beatles song on a bright Sunday. But not this particularSunday while we have Grillfish surf series on the 3rd last Sunday. The sky is at its worst looks, it’s been raining before the crack of the dawnand it looks like it’s not getting any better soon and the worst part is, this is not the rainy season anymore.As soon as we set our foot on the beach, as if the day couldn’t get any worse, we see nothing but flat waves. But we still hope for the best andshow must go on. We don’t want to disappoint the kids who have already showed up and looking at their energy, the day should be exciting.Small storm and rain shouldn’t be a hold up. At least that’s what we think.Pro Am division looks a bit different this year, with the absence of MegaSemadi due to his age ineligibility to participate, this is the time for somebodyto rise up and take the chance to be the Pro Am champion. Thatsomebody is Agus Sumerta Yasa, he was the winner in the Junior divisionlast year. For Agus Sumerta Yasa, small waves seemed not to bother him atall, clean spray to his winning session in Pro Am division.In the additional division, the aerial show, Mega Semadi holds nothing back. Hemade the one big maneuver and people just went…”what just happened?” It was aclear winning movement from Mega Semadi. With this year aerial show qualificationsystem, he took the spot to participate from this region. Last year he won the Pro Amdivision, this time he made his way in another different qualifying division.If you ever wondered what would it be look like to surf in a smallstorm and hard rain, this should answer your questionHigh tide is starting to rise to the shore and wind blows pretty hard that someof the flags are blown out of shape luckily the rain stopped a bit. As we proceedwith the 14 & under division and waves are in sight, some of the staffslooked pretty busy moving the tents below the jury’s hut. The little guy in thegroms division, Rio, took control of the division and beat Tommy Sobry, Volcomgrom rider from Bingin. In the Junior division (17 & Under), Koko Mitsua theformer champion in the grom division from this region is a no match for his fellowin this division. Marlon Gerber Wins Oakley Pro 11 at Canggu in High Scoring Shoot Out Against Pepen Hendrik10 April 2011, Canggu-Bali: In an exciting30 minute final today at CangguBeach in Bali, Marlon Gerber bestedPepen Hendrik in a high scoring shootoutto win the Oakley Pro 11, the first stopon the 2011 Coca-Cola Indonesian SurfingChampionship Tour.In the exciting finale to six days of competitionwhere the wave and weatherconditions ran the gamut from small 2foot windy and rainy to today’s 5-6 footand sunny, Marlon Gerber put on anamazing display of surfing to take victoryover veteran competitor and boyhoodfriend Pepen Hendrik. During thefinal, Gerber also posted the contest’shighest wave score of 9.5 (out of a possible10 points), winning him the Coca-Cola ISC’s Highest Score Award of 1million rupiah in addition to his 15 millionrupiah first place prize money and3,000 ISC Championship points.Gerber jumped out in front early, takingan inside wave to score a 4.5 beforeadding a 5.75, then a 7.75 and finallya 7.1 for a solid two-wave score of 14.85. Meanwhile Hendrik seemed a bitout of rhythm on his first two waves untilhe found a short barrel ride that scoredhim a 6.75 and got him back in the mix.Then with priority in his favor Hendriknabbed yet another barrel, which henarrowly exited and then blasted twomore big turns to score a whopping9.25. But not to be outdone Gerber wason the very next wave and went to work,methodically taking it apart it to post anincredible 9.5, leaving Hendrik needingan 8.1 wave score to take the lead.But the ocean went strangely quiet afterthat exchange, handing Gerber a welldeservedvictory.said Artha back on the beach. “I canbarely move my arms! But it was goodfun, and that’s what it’s all about forus old guys anyways,” he added. Lastyear’s Oakley Pro Master’s winner WayanBudayasa finished third and Tawan’scousin Ketut Menda came in fourth.The last of the winners called up to thepodium was Lee Wilson, who was presentedwith 1 million rupiah and a pair ofOakley sunglasses for the big aerial heboosted and landed during yesterday’sOakley-Lines Airshow. “This was such agreat event…with possibly the best finalever. I came into this event wantingto win and I did, and with the number ofgreat event locations on the ISC tour thisyear I plan adding a few more wins andend the year as the 2011 ISC champion.That’s my goal.”Another winner today was Ketut “Tawan”Wirtawan, who took out the Masters (35years old and over) Division final. Theonly goofyfooter in the four-man final,Tawan was very selective when choosinghis waves, conserving his energy andconsistently posting excellent scores. Ofhis four waves, his lowest scores weretwo 5.25’s and his two highest a 6.85and a 7.0 (totaling 13.85) to best runnerup Made Artha, whose best two wavesscored 5.75 and 6.65 for a total of12.40. Terlahir dari ayah yang juga seorang surfer legend I made Teja, gadisberambut ikal ini otomatis mewarisi darah seorang surfer. Anak ke 4 dari5 bersaudara ini mengaku baru memulai surfing di umur 14 tahun, tidakterlalu tertarik walaupun dia cepat sekali belajar surfing. Atas dukungankeluarga dan teman2nya okta akhirnya kembali menekuni surfing di usia15 tahun sampai sekarang.Okta blum pernah ikut kompetisi sekalipun, karena keluarga walopunmendukung tetap saja menomor satukan sekolah, tetapi sudah sejak lamaokta bertekat untuk mengikuti kompetisi segera setelah dia menyelesaikansekolahnya. Oyaa pernah kena cederagak?GG : Pengalaman menyenangkanumm semuanya sih menyenangkanya, banyak, tapi kalo pengalamanyang bener-bener bikin impress, pasdi Jepang, di Miyazaki, ak nyobainwave pool nya, disana dapat mainsurfing 3 jam dikasih sama bos nya. Itumain surfing 3 jam mahal sekali, 15juta bayarnya.Itu yang paling mengesankan.Kalo menyedihkan nya yapapan patah, kena karang, kaki keseleoya hal-hal yang bersifat fisik lah.Pernah lagi main surfing, trus nyobabarrel kena hajar ombak trs papanpatah, atau terbang trus salah jatuhpapan patah trus kaki keseleo. Itu kakikeseleo sampai 2 bulan, pas lagi adaombak bagus aku sampai gak bisa mainsurfing dulu. Milih sihombaknya, enggak juga milih ombak yangterlalu besar.MW : Bagi Gunk Gus, surfing ini sebagaihobby atau pekerjaan?GG : Buat aku yaa, surfing jadi hobbysekaligus pekerjaan. Kebetulan aku punyabos dari Jepang, nah dia yang ngasi-ngasitamu dari Jepang kalo ada yang maudatang ke Bali dan belajar main surfing. Yaaku jadi kayak coach surfing nya mereka.Jadi ada uang yang masuk jadi pendapatan.MW : Kedepannya bakal tetap bertahandi dunia surfing atau gak?GG : Klo surfing pasti! Karena akumasih muda , masih cinta sama surfing, tapibagian umur 30 tahun ke atas aku maumulai ke arah bisnis. Therewere cases of febrile patients withsevere joint and muscle pain causin thepatients to contort or bend their body.In the Makonde language of Tanzania,they call this condition “kungunyala”which means “to become contorted”,so scientists named this new virus as“chikungunya virus (CHIKV)”.Chikungunya in IndonesiaThe first report of chikungunya feverwas at Samarinda, Kalimantan in 1973.It has become an epidemic in 1980,1983, 2001 and 2002. Now it is foundin almost every major islands of Indonesia.The VectorA vector is a carrier. The vector forCHIKV is mosquitoes. As with dengue,the main vector is Aedes aegypti.After biting someone infected withCHIKV, the mosquito will carry thevirus, then transfer the virus when bitinga healthy person.The SymptomsAfter the CHIKV is introduced to thebody, it takes 3-7 days for incubationbefore symptoms develop. Themain symptoms are fever followedwith joint and muscle pain. The feverrises abrupty, often reaching 39 -40°C and sometimes accompaniedby shaking chills. After 2-3 days, thetemperature may remit for 1-2 days.The joint pain is polyarticular (involvingmore than 1 joint), migratory (willmove to other joints), and predominantlyaffects the small joints of thehands, wrists, ankles and feet, withlesser involvement of larger joints.Pain on movement is worse in themorning, improved by mild exercisebut worsen by strenuous exercise.Infants would have sudden fever,and within 3-5 days will developskin rash, commonly associated withred eyes and general flu symptoms.Sometimes the child has nausea, vomiting,and diarrhea.Older children and adults will complainjoint and muscle pain with thefever, also will have enlarged lymphnodes. In adults, the joint and musclepain is very dominant causing temporaryparalysis due to the pain whenwalking.The disease typically lasts a fewdays, but some patients have prolongedfatigue lasting several weeks.Some patients also have reportedincapacitating joint pain, or arthritislasting for weeks or months.There is no report of CHIKV infectioncausing death or any other serious permanentcomplication. It is thought onceinfected, it will give life-long immunity.TreatmentThere is no specific antiviral treatmentfor chikungunya fever. As other viralinfection, the treatment is symptomatic,i.e: rest, fluids, paracetamol to relievethe fever and aching.Some cases will also involve decreaseof the platelet level, the blood factorimportant for clotting, therefore aspirinshould be avoided.Infected persons should be protectedfrom further mosquito exposure. Theyshould stay indoors or under a mosquitonet during the first few days of illness sothey can’t contribute to the transmissioncycle.PreventionNo vaccine or prophylaxis drug is availablefor CHIKV. The best way to avoidCHIKV infection is to prevent mosquitobites. Cuaca cerah sekali setelah malamsebelumnya adalah bulan purnama,ombak sekitar 0,8 feet dengan arus ygcukup kuat lumayan buat mendampingipara surfer beginner ini.Sebelum surfing mereka dapat pengarahanyg cukup jelas dari para instruktursurfing.Dan voila...
