Purpose <strong>and</strong> scope:Radiology procedure privileges determine which radiologist is allowed to perform certain radiologyservices.2.Policy Statement:The Radiology <strong>Department</strong> is a major component <strong>of</strong> the hospital establishment <strong>of</strong>fers Radiological servicesto assist in the clinical diagnosis <strong>of</strong> the patient within the <strong>Health</strong> Care System using General Radiography,Ultrasound <strong>and</strong> ComputedTomography.Radiology examinations <strong>and</strong> services should be done by radiologists who are privileged to perform them.3.Definitions:Privileging: the process by which a radiologist is permitted to provide radiology services to patients basedon his/her education, license, training <strong>and</strong> individual experience.4.
