PANELISTSDISCUS, The American Distilling Institute, and fellow small distillers across the country he hasworked on legislative outreach on both the state and federal level. In particular, Cassell hasbeen active since 2006 promoting legislation that would permit small distillers to have on sitesales in Pennsylvania. The legislation has passed the Pennsylvania House of Representativesand is currently in the Senate Law & Justice Committee. Having cofounded the first microdistillery in Pennsylvania, Cassell has established what he believes to be a healthy dialoguewith the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. Recently, Robert was invited to take part in thePLCB’s Regional Advisory Panel. In 2007 Philadelphia Magazine selected him as one of their“People to Watch”. Cassell is also a Regional Board Member of the Settlement Music School ofPhiladelphia.Tonya Dusold is the Communications Director for the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division. Sheworks with the local and state media to relay information regarding Division operations tothe public. She also writes and designs most Iowa ABD publications and the Division’s website. Since the IABD began utilizing social networking in 2009, Tonya has been in charge ofdeveloping and maintaining the Division’s social media presence. This year she was appointedby Governor Branstad to serve on the Web Standardization Committee to help shape thefuture of the State’s online presence including websites, online services and social media.Additionally, she initiated the Division’s and Governor’s mobile tagging and applicationsusage. Tonya serves on NABCA’s Communications Committee and is a past member of theEducation Task Force Committee. Prior to joining the Iowa ABD in 2007, Tonya worked for theDes Moines Register and Juice Magazine. Tonya holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalismfrom Iowa State University with an emphasis in visual communications as well as a Bachelor ofArts in Cultural Anthropology.Eddie Edwards is a successful visionary director with experience leading a full spectrum oflaw enforcement operations, cutting-edge strategic enforcement and educational initiatives,adept communicator and negotiator, able to assemble, motivate and build critical partnershipsand strategic alliances while maintaining the delicate balance between public health, safetyand business. Chief Edwards has over 20 years of law enforcement experience. In 2008, ChiefEdwards was recognized by the NH Business Association and the Union-leader, the state’slargest newspaper as one of the top 40 leaders in New Hampshire under, 40 years of age.He is also a member of the New Hampshire US Attorney General’s Identity Theft Task Forceand NH Attorney General’s Underage Drinking Task Force, the Governor’s Advisory Groupon Juvenile Justice and Federal Advisory Committee on Juvenile Justice. Chief Edwards wasappointed by the NH Attorney General to serve on the Governor’s Commission on Crime. Hehas also been appointed as a member of the New Hampshire’s legislative study commission’son street gangs and DWI. Chief Edwards graduated from the 226th National FBI Academy andholds a degree in Criminal Justice. He was certified as a Drug Recognition Expert Instructorin 2001. Chief Edwards has written legislation and regulation relative to alcohol and tobaccoenforcement. Chief Edwards currently serves on the board of directors for the New HampshireEndowment for Health. Chief Edwards serves as New Hampshire’s Disproportionate MinorityContact committee Chairman. Chief Edwards holds membership with NOBLE-NationalOrganization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, ICAP-International Chief Associationof Police, the New Hampshire Chiefs of Police Association, and NLLEA-National Liquor LawEnforcement Association.Rick Emlet has been an innovative leader in the IT systems and infrastructure industry forover 30 years. His business management background and technical insight has resultedin a history of successful ventures, leading up to the founding of Outer Edge Technology, ahosting solutions provider that builds custom, private cloud solutions to enhance businessperformance and improve profitability for its customers. Prior to Outer Edge Technology Rickled his own ASP (Application Service Provider) company, Emlet Consulting from 2002-2008. Bypartnering with hosting companies and strategically guiding CIOs to utilize new cloud services– such as email, office automation and customer specific applications – Rick understood thecompetitive edge that hosting provided, and offered these applications which improvedthe delivery of services and greatly reduced the total cost of ownership for his customers.Preceding his tenure with Emlet Consulting, Rick was co-owner and Senior Vice Presidentfor K Consultants, an information technology consulting firm with over 175 employees thatwas acquired by Safeguard Scientifics in 2000. Prior to K Consultants, Richard held executivemanagement positions at Chubb Computer Services, Integrated Systems Consulting Group,Checkpoint Systems, and Plumbmaster, Inc.James Eubanks is the Operations Manager for the Mississippi Alcoholic Beverage Controlwhich is a part of the Mississippi Department of Revenue. He has had this position sinceMay, 2006. Jamie has been in warehousing for 26 years. Prior to coming to the MississippiABC, Jamie worked for (20) years in the private sector with Wal-Mart, PFG, and Jitney Jungle.In the private sector he implemented (6) different warehouse management systems, (3)transportation management systems, and (4) RFID systems. He has implemented productionstandards, safety programs, and performed mock disaster recovery programs. Jamie resideswith his wife Kim in Mendenhall, MS, and has (3) children; then decided to start over - Dakotais (6).James Goldberg is a principal in the Washington, DC law firm of Goldberg & Associates, PLLC.He also serves as General Counsel to the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association, whichrepresents the 18 states and two counties which directly control the distribution of alcoholbeverages through the operation of government-run wholesale, and, in some cases, retailoutlets. NABCA advises its member jurisdictions of statutory and judicial developments atthe federal and state levels, among other activities. A native of Washington, DC, Mr. Goldbergreceived his B.S. degree in political science and journalism from Syracuse University and hisJ.D. degree from The George Washington University National Law Center. He is admitted topractice before the Supreme Court of the United States and is a member of the District ofColumbia and Maryland Bars, the American Bar Association and the Order of the Coif, thenational legal honorary society. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Academyof Hospitality Industry Attorneys.Edward Hart attended Fairmont State College in 1973, majoring in Business. After college Mr.Hart worked in the wholesale beer industry for 20 years, managing two distributorships, onein Fairmont, WV and one in Elkins, WV. In 1997, Mr. Hart was appointed Deputy Commissionerof WVABCA by Governor Cecil Underwood. In 2000, Mr. Hart became Manager of the WVABCADistribution Center. Ed has two daughters and three grand-children.Jerome Janicki is Operations VP and COO for NABCA. His responsibilities include overseeingthe Association’s MIS department, product database group, data and report production anddistribution functions, and the Association’s involvement in the alcohol beverage industry’selectronic commerce initiative. Prior to joining NABCA in 1996, Jerry worked for AT&T for 16years, then founded and managed a software and technology consulting company for 10years. Jerry began doing consulting work for the NABCA in 1988 and advised the Associationin technological matters until becoming a full-time employee. He is married, lives in Maryland,and has two children and two grandchildren.PANELISTS
