SENSOR SORTER WITHELECTRO-PNEUMATIC EJECTIONDOUBLE PRODUCTION, SAME QUALITYver.01/2013Selection until 4 levelsRAYNBOW is a high resolution sensor sorter. It is equipped with Visible Color and NIR technology (Near Infra Red). Thesystem can detect the presence of organic or inorganic foreign bodies (including completely black), rotten products andcolor defects. Ethernet connection for remote access is available. Product traceability: the installed software allows datacollection during process for offline analysis and/or traceability. The software works with four control levels which can beindependently parameterized and it has a simple interface. Minimal re-calibrations of the machine are required, typicallyonly twice per year.<strong>Raytec</strong>, with the introduction of the new Raynbow High Speed offers a photodiode array sensor sorter with60% higher capacity than standard Raynbow.<strong>Raytec</strong> have always been committed to finding the best solution with the minimum investment. The marketneeds to limit costs without reducing quality and it is in this spirit that we have designed our High Speedsorter, based on the famous Raynbow.Its electronics is adapted to sorting speed, which goes from <strong>Raytec</strong>’s standard 70 m/min (230 fpm) to120m/min (394 fpm). Raynbow High Speed is available in the 50 channel version (50” belt width).Bilateral sensor visionRAYNBOW is able to view theproduct from both sides. Banks ofsensors above and below theproduct provide a comprehensiveset of images for the visionsystem. The high quantity andposition of sensors used allows a4x4 mm pixel size.Pentachromatic lightingRAYNBOW adopts the solid statelighting technology (L.E.D.) with 5monochromatic wavelengthsreflections + 1 monochromaticwavelength transmission. The use oflight sources in the visible spectrumand in the infrared (NIR) spectrumallows the product sorting by colorand by parameters which areindependent from the color.Ejection systemRAYNBOW can be equipped withelectro-pneumatic or air jet ejectionsystem depending on the processedproduct.

The frequencies of the infrared spectrum allowsforeign bodies and rotten products detection, even whenthese have the same color of the good product. TheChlorophyll analysis allows foreign body detection in greenproducts like green beans or rotten in whole apples.BlobA BLOB is a group of pixels in contact with each other thatare identified as defective by the sorting recipe. The systemallows to associate a “weight” to all the different kinds ofdefects that the sorting recipe can discriminate. Weight isassociated with all the pixels that are identified as defectiveon the grabbed image. The system rejects a BLOB only if theBLOB weight (sum of the weights of all the adjacentdefective pixels) is higher than a set value.SnapThe thresolds are adjustables directly fron the controlpanel with the Snap system.Directly on the photo grabbed by the system it ispossible to verify how the system will act on thedefects and at which way of rejection the defects willbe assignedMECHANICAL AND AIR REJECT UNIT21123WAYThe system allows tohave two differentclasses of rejection:1 = good products;2 = foreign bodies;3 = color defects.1 = good products;2 = big defects;3 = small defects.1 = good products;2 = rotten products;3 = fruit stones.ver.01/20133WAYThe system allows to have two different classes of rejection.
