Vision:<strong>University</strong> <strong>School</strong> believes that it is important for studentsto reach out to others and to serve the community inwhich they live. Through the <strong>LoPresti</strong> <strong>Philanthropic</strong><strong>Board</strong>, students have the opportunity to learn about thedifficulties people face in Northeastern Ohio and to work towardimproving their quality of life.Directors do community service. <strong>The</strong>y learn the institutionalskills necessary for philanthropic leadership, fund-raising andgrant-writing.It is <strong>University</strong> <strong>School</strong>’s hope that the directors will be inspired bytheir experience and pursue philanthropic service as adults. <strong>The</strong>directors, through their experience, hope to encourage members ofthe US community to do the same.Application Process:<strong>The</strong> <strong>LoPresti</strong> <strong>Board</strong> meets in February to consider grantrequests. <strong>The</strong> application deadline is January 8, 2008.Please write a grant proposal and return it to the addresslisted in the Contact Information.An application for the proposal can be found at:http://www.us.edu/programs/huntingvalley/organizations.cfmA board member may contact the applicant to learn more about therequest.
