Bardon eshis a joint venture companyformed by esh group &aggregate industries”.Joe <strong>Tonks</strong> formed J <strong>Tonks</strong> (Transport Ltd) in 1963having already been active in the industry formany years. He was joined by his son, also calledJoe.The business, based in Wingate, grew successfullyfor forty years before Joe <strong>Tonks</strong> jnr decided tosell the waste recycling business in 2003.Brian Manning, acting for <strong>Esh</strong> <strong>Group</strong>, and GeoffParkin, acting for Aggregate Industries, decidedto form a joint venture between their twocompanies to develop the business. In late 2003<strong>Esh</strong> <strong>Group</strong> and Aggregate Industries bought J<strong>Tonks</strong> (Transport) Ltd, including its vehicles, skipsand recycling facility at Haverton Hill.Under the day-to-day management of JohnDee, who worked previously for Joe <strong>Tonks</strong> in J<strong>Tonks</strong> (transport) Ltd, <strong>Tonks</strong> continues to expandand now has an additional recycling facility atTursdale, near to the <strong>Esh</strong> <strong>Group</strong> Head Office inBowburn.
