Bardon eshis a joint venture companyformed by esh group &aggregate industries”.Joe Tonks formed J Tonks (Transport Ltd) in 1963having already been active in the industry formany years. He was joined by his son, also calledJoe.The business, based in Wingate, grew successfullyfor forty years before Joe Tonks jnr decided tosell the waste recycling business in 2003.Brian Manning, acting for Esh Group, and GeoffParkin, acting for Aggregate Industries, decidedto form a joint venture between their twocompanies to develop the business. In late 2003Esh Group and Aggregate Industries bought JTonks (Transport) Ltd, including its vehicles, skipsand recycling facility at Haverton Hill.Under the day-to-day management of JohnDee, who worked previously for Joe Tonks in JTonks (transport) Ltd, Tonks continues to expandand now has an additional recycling facility atTursdale, near to the Esh Group Head Office inBowburn.
