Content Description: This series includes many cards and letters that were sent to<br />

<strong>Daniel</strong> <strong>Hines</strong> while he was researching the early <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Mail</strong> Service (AMS). Individuals<br />

were responding to his queries regarding events and photographs. Those with enclosures<br />

intact were left in that condition. Some cards indicate a cordial ongoing correspondence<br />

Mr. <strong>Hines</strong> had with the personnel and their relatives. Also included are carbon copies of<br />

a number of letters Mr. <strong>Hines</strong> sent to individuals and organizations, and a small amount<br />

of Christmas cards that appear to be unrelated to the AMS.<br />
