Durable Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and intuitive touch panelcontrols provide unrivaled ease-of-use. The Emergency Stopenhances safety. All main controls are located on the first programmingscreen: Blade Speed, Feed Rate, Distance Remaining (CuttingLength), Cutting Cycle, Blade Motor On/Off, Pump Motor On/Off, and Feed Motor On/Off. When the cutting cycle isactivated the LCD displays the total Distance Remaining untilend of cut. Feed Rate and Blade Speed can be changed by theoperator during the cutting cycle at any time. The second screen can activate the cutting cycle, change thecutting parameters, and activate the accessory rotating vise.Soft Start and Soft Stop automatically reduce the feed rate atthe beginning and end of cut for delicate and sphericalsamples.Language selection, blade dressing and units of measure areselected from the third screen. The ability to change thecutting parameters, start the ISOMET 4000 from all threeprogramming screens, and the user friendly screen icon, maximize convenience.ApplicationsFerrous & Non-Ferrous Metals:Plain Carbon SteelsElectronic PackagesStainless SteelsPlasticsTool SteelsFastenersAluminumRefractoriesCopper Base AlloysIntegrated CircuitsMagnesiumThermal Spray CoatingsTitaniumMetal Matrix CompositesBiomedicalWafersPCB’sCeramicsPetrographicPrecision Longitudinal Cuts and Slot Cuttingon Long Samples:ImplantsBonesTubingAircraft FastenersTurbine BladesCutting and Notching Ceramic and Plastic SpecimensAccessoriesStainless Steel Chucks and Flanges:11-2682 Stainless Steel Double Saddle Chuck, for barand tube stock up to 1¼″ (32mm) diameter11-2683 Stainless Steel Single Saddle Chuck, for barand tube stock up to 1¼″ (32mm) diameter11-2684 Stainless Steel Specimen Chuck, for 25mm,30mm, 1″, and 1¼″ diameter mounted samples11-2685 Stainless Steel Specimen Chuck, for 1½″ and40mm diameter mounted samples11-2686 Stainless Steel Chuck, for irregularly shapedsamples11-2687 Stainless Steel Fastener Chuck, forlongitudinal sectioning of fasteners, tubes and solid cylindersfrom 1 1 ⁄8″ to 2 1 ⁄8″ (29mm-54mm) in length11-2704 Stainless Steel Thermal Spray CoatingChuck11-2688 Stainless Steel Precision Flanges,3″ (75mm) diameter, one set11-2689 Stainless Steel Precision Flanges,4″ (100mm) diameter, one set11-2690 Stainless Steel Precision Flanges,5″ (125mm) diameter, one set11-2697 Stainless Steel Precision Flanges,6″ (150mm) diameter, one setChucks require 11-2699, or 11-2700 Sample PositioningSystems or 11-2691 General Usage Vise.Longer Sample Vises11-2691 General Usage Vise, holds up to 1¾″ H x 2″ D(45mm x 50mm) sample11-2703 General Usage Vise, holds up to 1¾″ H x 6″ D(45mm x 150mm) sample11-2692 Slotting Vise for Cutting Slots in Samples, holds up to 1½″ H x 4″ D (38mm x 100mm) sample11-2698 Angle Vise for Cutting Samples on Angle, holds up to 2″ (50mm) sample. 0-90 degree angle cuts in 2degree increments.Additional Accessories11-2693 Precision Goniometer with 3-Axis Control,in 5 degree increments11-2694 Precision Table, for sectioning thin materials andwafers. 180 degree rotation in 1 degree increments. ¼″ (6mm)Z-axis control. The ISOMET 4000 features a spacious interior, versatilesample fixturing, and easy sample retrieval. Manual BladePositioning Handle provides quick setup. The ISOMET 4000’sprecision is a result in its superior mechanical design, precision linear bearings, and vibration dampening aluminumcasting.Removable X and Y-axis T-slot beds allow sample positioningon either axis. 11-2691 General Usage Vise illustrated.Linear FeedMechanismBLADEWORKPIECE (b)LINEARFEED(a)VISEWORKPIECET-SLOT BEDThe ISOMET 4000’s blade feeds into the fixed workpiece onprecision linear bearings. The linear travel provides constantfeed rate cutting and allows sectioning of longer and irregularshaped samples. The workpiece can be positioned at the top(a) center or underneath the blade (b).The 11-2696 Automatic Dressing System dresses the bladeprior to and during operation to optimize cutting conditions, prolong blade life, and give the best cut surface. For easy maintenance the coolant hose can be used as aclean-out hose and the recirculating system tank can becleaned without removing the blade.Since adequate coolant volume and positioning is critical forgood cutting, the ISOMET 4000 provides a full 0.7gal/min (3l/min) presented to both sides of the blade. The coolant trackswith the blade for long cuts.
