Teen Feed<br />

Meet at: UW Hillel 4754 17th Ave. NE, Seattle<br />

Volunteers are needed dur<strong>in</strong>g two shifts to help prepare,<br />

cook, and serve food. Shifts start at 5:30 PM, and we need 10<br />

or more volunteers for a successful event. RSVP to<br />

As usual, our Teen Feed Team did an excellent job <strong>in</strong><br />

June and the meal was delicious. We served a record number<br />

of meals, and we nearly ran out of food. Want to help, but<br />

aren’t available on August 26? Please consider a donation<br />

to Teen Feed. An anonymous donor has agreed to match<br />

donations up to $500 to fund this social action project.<br />

FRS Personal Needs Drive<br />

FRS is collect<strong>in</strong>g travel-sized toiletries and connection<br />

with their High Holy Day programm<strong>in</strong>g. Please br<strong>in</strong>g items<br />

to the school office.<br />

JFS Food Collection<br />

Last year 1,850 people per month needed this food<br />

pantry. Let’s work together to fill the JFS Polack Food Bank<br />

shelves and provide families <strong>in</strong> need with healthy, nutritious<br />

food options. Dean & Gwenn Polik and Valerie Polack are<br />

once aga<strong>in</strong> generously contribut<strong>in</strong>g a match<strong>in</strong>g gift for every<br />

item we collect. Last year, we collected 1,650 lbs.<br />

This year, let’s triple it! Please remember that we cannot<br />

accept previously opened items or glass jars. <strong>The</strong> particular<br />

needs this year are canned fruits, vegetables & prote<strong>in</strong>s<br />

(peanut butter, tuna & beans).<br />

Volunteers Needed!<br />

Jo<strong>in</strong> us Sunday, September 30th from 9 AM to 1 PM<br />

for the JFS Food Sort! We’ll meet at HNT for Morn<strong>in</strong>g<br />

M<strong>in</strong>yan, then pack the food collected, transport it to the JFS<br />

warehouse, and help sort donations from across the city. To<br />

volunteer, email Leah Saltzman (leah@leahandphil.com) or<br />

call 206-853-5530 for more <strong>in</strong>formation.<br />

Shabbat D<strong>in</strong>ner Circle<br />

Com<strong>in</strong>g Soon: Quarterly Shabbat D<strong>in</strong>ners!<br />

We <strong>in</strong>vite you to share a Shabbat with the Shabbat D<strong>in</strong>ner<br />

Circle, a community of HNT members of all ages. Take<br />

a break from the work week and enjoy gather<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> each<br />

other’s homes for an even<strong>in</strong>g of good food and great<br />

conversation. <strong>The</strong>se potluck d<strong>in</strong>ners of at least 6 people<br />

are dairy or pareve and dress is casual. We hope everyone -<br />

young and old, couples, s<strong>in</strong>gles and families - will jo<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong> this<br />

excit<strong>in</strong>g opportunity to get to know each other <strong>in</strong> a low-key,<br />

comfortable environment.<br />
