The name of Žvėrinčius forest, which stretches<br />
along the Nemunas river, in the Nemunas<br />
Loops’ regional park, discloses its history – for<br />
centuries this was a place loved for hunting by<br />
<strong>Lithuania</strong>n noblemen. Now the area contains<br />
an asphalted 10 kilometre long cycling trail.<br />

However, just a couple of steps away you will<br />
be embraced by gorgeous wild nature.<br />
The route starts in Birštonas, which is one<br />
of the oldest and most favourite balneological<br />
resorts in <strong>Lithuania</strong>. The majority of the route<br />
consists of asphalted roads and a small section<br />
contains forest roads. At a few places the route<br />
forks so you can choose the most suitable<br />
option. The area is rich in camping sites and<br />
resting places.<br />

route, in about 3 kilometres you will come to<br />
