LOCATIONThe Cavalry <strong>Adventure</strong> will be located atthe top of Forbidden Mountain. You willneed a backpack to carry your personalgear to the camp, so weight and bulk mustbe minimized. Keep it simple and light.The hike will be approximately two milesand mostly uphill, so be prepared to hike!ACTIVITIESA host of exciting activities await you ontop of Forbidden Mountain! You will livein military style wall tents, try out theuniforms the cavalry wore and enjoy some outstanding Chuckwagon cooking. Black powdershooting, horseback riding, branding, roping, drills, history of Fort Davis, fun campfires andstorytelling all await you at our new parade ground and Fort on top of Forbidden Mountain!STAFF & EQUIPMENT<strong>BTSR</strong> will provide trained staff, Chuckwagon cooking gear, program supplies, and food. Eachparticipant will get to sleep in an authentic period wall tent. Due to the rugged terrain, asturdy pair of shoes is a must. NO open toed shoes or sandals. Scouts are welcomed towear cowboy boots and Cavalry regalia all week.PLEASE NOTEAll participants are expected to pitch in to accomplish necessary camp chores and to followthe leadership of the staff. Self-discipline is expected, the Scout Oath and Law will be therule of the Camp. At the end of the week, all participants will hike back to base camp andget ready for the closing campfire.
