The 4300 drum chipper issuited for high volume biomass producers whohave a wide variety of feed material, from logs up to26 inches (66 cm) in diameter, to brush and smallfeed stock.Powered by a C18 Caterpillar engine, the 4300 isavailable in three power ratings– 630, 700, and 765horsepower (470, 522, and 570 kW).At 42,440 pounds (19,250 kg) and 8 feet 2inches (249 cm) in width, the 4300 is a highproduction chipper whose dimensions do notrequire any oversize permits for road transportation. The Peterson 4300 Raises the Standard of Chip QualityThe chipper utilizes a 36 inch diameter by 44¾inch wide (91 by 114 cm) drum with wear resistantAR450 wear surfaces on the drum pockets andshell. A sloped feed deck makes feeding the chippereasier. The optional material sizing bars and chipaccelerator minimize oversize twigs and branchesin the chips, and help ensure tight chip packing andfully loaded chip vans.A heavy duty adjustable knife and clamp systemis used. Chip length can be changed from 3 /8 to 1½inches (9.5 to 38 mm) by adjusting knife extensionand feed speed. The 4300’s new generation of controls includesPeterson’s high-production Adaptive ControlSystem.
