He assumed therole of Associate Dean of the College ofEngineering and Applied Sciences in the fall of1985. From1977 to 1981 he was an Assistant Professor ofComputer Science at Washington State University.Prior to that he worked in industry in California. Hehas received research and equipment funding fromIBM, Motorola, Honeywell, NSF and Sun, and haswritten more than 50 research papers.Principal Areas of Teaching and Research:Miller’s primary research interest is distributed singleaddress space operating systems. His work focuseson operating system internals and related computerarchitecture and computer network issues.Honors and Distinctions:■ Recent grants include funding for setting up anEmbedded Linux course sequence 2001 and2002 and for research into OS and NetworkSoftware for Embedded Systems in 2001.Selected Publications:R.
