an in-depth understanding of<br />

management systems concepts, key<br />

to almost all of the newly developed<br />

standards. This session provides<br />

a road map to determine what<br />

regulations and standards effect your<br />

organization and how a management<br />

system can help you show<br />

management control and continuous<br />

New Strategic Planning:<br />

A CSO’s Roadmap to Success<br />

Explore a ten-step process to create<br />

the roadmap for a security service<br />

function. Strategic planning involves<br />

defining a purpose and vision,<br />

establishing goals and objectives in<br />

support of that mission, and creating<br />

strategies to attain established<br />

goals and objectives. Gathering<br />

and analyzing data from inside and<br />

outside of a service function—and<br />

subsequently turning those data into<br />

information—requires a structured<br />

process and focus for an internal<br />

service function. How you and<br />

your customer; your competition;<br />

the business environment your<br />

employer is working within; external<br />

learning how to be a more effective<br />

motivator. Before you can motivate<br />

others, however, you’ll need to<br />

learn about yourself. Take the DISC<br />

Inventory to better understand how<br />

your communication style affects your<br />

decision-making. Identify generational<br />

issues in your workplace and learn<br />

how they should effect your leadership<br />

style. Define your motivational<br />

leadership skills. Work in teams to<br />

solve actual workplace concerns.<br />
