Recently Actor John Amos Jr., sat down for aconversation with six African American veterans whoserved America during World War II. The resultingshort documentary film, The Unsung Heroes of IwoJima, features Original Montford Point Marine and PastNational President, Mr. Gene Doughty, acknowledgesand pays tribute to all African American veterans whocontributed at the battle of Iwo Jima. Amos was joinedby Dr. Ida Jones, assistant curator of manuscripts, Moorland SpingarnResearch Center, Howard University; former Congressman and WWIIveteran Louis Stokes; and Iwo Jima veteran Sgt. Gene Doughty to screenand discuss the film. This program was presented in partnership with Howard University, and was viewedat the William G.
